Jordan Introduction

St. Lawrence is proud to announce a new partner program in Amman, Jordan through Amideast.

Students may enroll in this program during the fall or spring semester.  The program is designed for those interested in studying the Arabic language (both Modern Standard Arabic and the Levantine colloquial dialect) and courses in Middle East/North African studies.  Courses are offered in the following areas:   Anthropology, Art, Political Science, Environmental Studies, Religion, and Sociology.  Faculty members are drawn from a variety of institutions around the region.

The program is based at Amideast’s offices in the Sweifiyeh district of Amman.   Amman is the bustling capital city of Jordan with over 2.5 million inhabitants.

In addition to coursework, Amideast provides several forms of experiential learning components designed to enhance the study abroad experience and students participate in educational excursions outside of Amman.   All St. Lawrence students are required to choose the homestay family option.
