January Volunteer Placement

During the month of January, year-long program participants engage in a three-week, full-time volunteer placement in Rouen. Recent placements have included a variety of social service agencies and local schools.  Every attempt is made to match placement assignments to the individual's interests; however, as formalized internships are regulated by the French government, we may not be able to accommodate all requests. The volunteer placement is designed to be a challenging personal and intellectual experience. Students remain under the supervision of the program and continue to reside with their families in Rouen. They participate in a weekly seminar and carry out required reading and writing assignments.
