Program Details

St. Lawrence students must:

• enroll in a full course load, 15 credit hours. 
• take Danish as one of their courses.

Students choose from one of the programs below. Most of the programs have one required core course, occasionally two are required.  A student's choice of a particular core course automatically enrolls the student in the corresponding program. Students cannot take the core courses of two different programs.

Besides the program's core course(s) and Danish, students take electives.  Generally, each course in Denmark is worth 3 credits, so students take FIVE courses. This is not an overload.

• Biotechnology and Biomedicine
• Communication and Mass Media
• Danish Language and Culture
• European Culture and History
• European Politics and Society
  • Prerequisites: introductory government course plus international relations or comparative politics
• International Business and Economics
  • Prerequisites: ECON 251 and ECON 252
• Medical Practice and Policy
  • Limited enrollment.
  • Prerequisites: 1 year of university biology with lab plus 1 year of university chemistry.
  • For serious students with a strong, documented interest in medicine. Interested students should notify SLU Center for International and Intercultural Studies (CIIS) immediately after acceptance.
• Migration and Identity
• Psychology and Child Development
• Pre-Architecture and Design
  • Prerequisite: Drawing course.
  • For students with a documented gackground in Fine Arts or Studio Arts
• Comparative Field Project Option
