Cortona Introduction
The University of Georgia (UGA) in Cortona program offers a variety of Art History and Studio Arts courses, as well as creative writing courses (spring only). All courses are held on the UGA Cortona campus, and faculty come from both the U.S. and Italy. Program orientation is held in Rome and Florence where students spend three days in each city. There are excursions to various Italian cities every Saturday during the program. Eligibility: This program is open to Juniors and Seniors who have
declared a major or minor in Fine Arts only. Other students are not
eligible.
Students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
Pre-requisites: Students must have taken FA 131 and FA 116 or 117. It is strongly recommended that students have taken at least one semester of Italian prior to participation.
Housing: Students will live in the John Kehoe building, which is a renovated monastery on the UGA Cortona campus. Students are placed in multi-bed dormitories.
Program Cost: The Cortona program is considered a regular St. Lawrence partner program; financial aid applies for SLU students. The cost is the same as St. Lawrence University's semester charges, and includes tuition, room, and board, as well as all integrated program field trips.
