ICU Introduction

International Christian University (ICU) is a broadly Christian but non-denominational institution with about 2,100 students. Students seeking degrees at ICU are expected to be able to take courses in both Japanese and English. St. Lawrence students, however, may take all their non-language classes in English.

ICU campus

St. Lawrence students at ICU take intermediate or advanced Japanese. They are placed at an appropriate level as determined by a diagnostic test administered shortly after their arrival in Japan.

ICU operates on a trimester system; therefore, SLU students must make a commitment for the entire academic year.
