Cost
The cost for the semester programs is equal to St. Lawrence University's
comprehensive fee ($22,217.50 for a semester 2007-08). This cost includes
tuition, a double
or triple room at Tenley Campus and what is called the "150 Block plan
plus $300 Eaglebucks" meal plan. The surcharge for a single room or
additional meals will be billed directly to the student by American University.
This fee does not include transportation to the program, health insurance, books, transportation within Washington, D.C., and personal expenses.
A non-refundable first payment of $500 is to be made upon acceptance. The remaining sum must be paid upon receipt of bills from St. Lawrence University. Participants in the program will have incurred responsibility for the full cost once they have formally accepted enrollment. Refunds will be made in accordance with the policy outlined in the St. Lawrence catalog, minus any money that has been paid out on behalf of the student.
Financial Aid
The Washington Semester Program is considered a regular St. Lawrence Program;
therefore, financial aid for St. Lawrence students is automatically applied.
Insurance
All students are required to have accident and sickness insurance. The St. Lawrence
University Accident and Sickness Insurance offers the same benefits that a St.
Lawrence student would receive on campus.
