India Program
The Program in India at a Glance
Fall semester only
- Consortium (NYSICCSI) with 4 other private, liberal arts colleges in New
York State; each college nominates 4 students.
- Students take:
- Hindi (language) and Hindu culture (Hindi 101)
- history (History 250)
- modern India (Anthropology 227)
- a independent fieldwork project.
- Students travel throughout northern India, staying in hostels and homestays.
- The program director is from the consortium schools on a rotating basis;
for 2008 it will be Neil DeVotta of Hartwick College.
- Program dates: Approximately August 15 to December 20, 2008.
