Cost
The cost for the semester is equal to St. Lawrence University's comprehensive
fee for a semester (in 2007 -08, $22,217.50). This cost includes tuition, room and board, group excursions and cultural events. It does not cover trans-Atlantic airfare (approximately $1,300 in 2007), passport and visa fees, health insurance, immunizations and personal expenses.
Students generally travel from New York to Delhi together, and have some flexibility in determining their return itinerary.
Students pay $150 toward the cost of the program books (payable at the April orientation). The remaining books and materials are included in the program cost.
A non-refundable first payment of $500 is to be made upon acceptance. The
remaining sum must be paid upon receipt of bills from St. Lawrence University.
Participants in the program will have incurred responsibility for the full
cost once they have formally accepted enrollment. Refunds will be made in
accordance with the policy outlined in the St. Lawrence catalog, minus any
money that has been paid out on behalf of the student.
Financial Aid
Financial aid for SLU students is automatically applied. Since St. Lawrence does not offer financial aid to non-St.
Lawrence students, these students should check with the financial aid office of their home institutions. There are
travel scholarships available to SLU students to help pay for airfare to and from the program.
Insurance
The St. Lawrence University Accident and Sickness Insurance provides worldwide
coverage and offers the same benefits overseas that a St. Lawrence student
would receive on campus or in the US and Canada. Students who have had the
accident insurance requirement waived on the basis of family coverage should
consult with their family or insurance advisor to determine whether their
coverage is worldwide. In addition, students who purchase an International
Student Identity Card (ISIC) automatically receive basic insurance coverage
when traveling outside the United States. All students are required to have
accident and sickness insurance.
