Potsdam Central School Service and Leadership Clubs

This placement is located approximately 12 miles from campus.  Please note that it may be an approximate 20 minute ride from campus. 

This placement involves two clubs: Builders Club and Kiwanis Kids.

Builders Club consists of middle school students (grades 5-8) meeting from 2:15-3:00pm. Description of Builders Club from their website: "Builders Club is the largest service organization for middle school and junior high students, with more than 45,000 members worldwide. Members learn to work together and develop servant-leaders skills as they serve their school and community."  Students will engage the youth in various topics to include: What is Leadership?, Helping students understand the role and responsibilities of their respective leadership positions, How to run a meeting, How to take minutes and Public Speaking as well as assist the middle school students in planning fundraising and service events.

Kiwanis Kids (K-Kids) consists of elementary students (grades K-4) meeting from 3:00pm - 4:15pm. Description of K-Kids from their website: “In K-Kids clubs worldwide, more than 36,000 children are learning leadership through service. They're taking on the responsibility of running a K-Kids club as they plan and participate in community service projects. They assist the elderly with chores or organize community food drives.  They serve their schools, raising funds for sports equipment and extracurricular activities.”
