This placement is located approximately two miles from campus. Here is a description of Maplewood as noted on their website: “Maplewood is part of the United Helpers organization, which, for more than 110 years, has meant homes and services for thousands of North Country seniors, developmentally disabled and mentally ill people and their families. United Helpers offers a variety of services ranging from independent retirement communities to complete long-term care. The mission of the United Helpers organization is to serve our community and help those in need.” Students will have the opportunity to engage in the following activities: Activities include: reading to individuals, computer help/internet safety, puzzles, enlarging trivia/brain-buster worksheets, creating seasonal trivia games, card games(Bridge, Euchre, Rummy), manicures, board games (Scrabble, Yahtzee, Uno, Dominos, Skip-Bo), exercise-walking, and knitting.
