Festival of CBL Presentation Proposal Form

The Festival of CBL is a celebration of our students’ Community Based Learning experiences. It offers students the opportunity to showcase their experiences in a reflective way.  The Festival of CBL will feature students from all CBL courses.  Students will participate in the Festival in groups of no more than six members.

Instructions:

  1. Complete this Online Presentation Proposal Form by Deadline Below.
  2. The CBL Office will send a confirmation with further instructions by the Friday before the Festival.
  3. Create your Presentation and send an electronic copy via email along with an outline of talking points (or CD for movie/video) to cce@stlawu.edu 24 hours prior to the Festival.
  4. Arrive with your presentation at Eben Holden 1/2 hour prior to the start time.

Instructions
You and/or your group will produce a 5 to 8-minute presentation using audio/visual/PowerPoint to be performed in front of an audience explaining your experience(s) while in the field, the ways in which your experience(s) have shaped your understanding of your CBL course, and the overall message your group wishes to convey about the CBL experience. Don’t just tell the audience what you did, but address what you took away from the experience and how it helped the individuals you were serving. It will be the individual/group responsibility to bring the audio/visual/PowerPoint file on a flash drive and arrive to the event 1/2 hour before the festival start time. Be aware, that if your video is to be converted to YouTube, this can take a long time ans should be completed far enough in advance.

You and/or your group will be responsible for producing a video/movie which incorporates your experience(s) while at the CBL Placement, the ways in which your experience(s) have shaped your understanding of your CBL course, and the overall message your group wishes to convey about the CBL experience. Don’t just tell the audience what you did, but address what you took away from the experience and how it helped the individuals you were serving. It will be the individual/group responsibility to bring the file on a flash drive and arrive to the event 1/2 hour before the festival start time. You and/or your group will be responsible for producing a Poster which incorporates your experiences while at the CBL Placement; the ways in which your experiences have shaped your understanding of your CBL course, and the overall message your group wishes to convey about the CBL experience. Don’t just tell the audience what you did, but address what you took away from the experience and how it helped the individuals you were serving. Instructions will be sent via email on printing your poster after your proposal is received. It will be the individual/group responsibility to pick up the poster and arrive to the event 1/2 hour before the festival start time.

It is my and/or groups responsibility to read all emails and instructions associated with my presentation at the Festival of CBL. I also understand that it is my and/or groups responsibility to bring all necessary equipment/supplies for my and/or groups presentation at the time of the event. I further understand that the expectation is that I and/or the group is to stay for the entire event to be a gracious audience to other presenters.
