This placement site is located approximately 20 miles from campus. “Fatherhood: A Parenting Class for Men” is a facility sponsored curriculum that offers incarcerated individuals an opportunity to explore the many topics of parenting. Some objectives of the curriculum include: defining the role of a dad/father, sharing ways to stay connected while incarcerated and discussing a plan for reuniting with children. Students will be responsible for implementing the five chapter curriculum and facilitating discussions on a weekly basis. Since the curriculum is already developed, the structure for the classes will simply involve following the handbook and engaging participants in discussions. Students choosing this site need to be self-directed and willing to facilitate discussion.
