Cornell Cooperative Extension

Location: Canton, NY (approximately three miles from campus)

Mission: According to their website, the mission of Cornell Cooperative Extension is to provide unbiased, educational outreach to the North Country through research, education and demonstration in Food and Agricultural Systems, Life Skills, Community Enhancement, Rural Stewardship, and Youth Development.

Projects: Students will assist Cornell Cooperative Extension staff with the S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) after-school program for youth grades K-6.  Be ready to inspire, mentor and motivate youth through implementing science curriculum such as birding and winter tracking. Be prepared to work outdoors in all weather. In colder months, remember to wear layers, warm shoes, hats, gloves, etc. Please refrain from wearing clothing with inappropriate words or graphics. A plain tee, jeans and sneakers is perfect for indoors.
