Campus Kitchens Project

This placement has both an on-campus and off-campus component.  There are two primary days: Sunday and Monday; Sunday is the prep day in Eben kitchen and Monday is the actual meal in the community.  The SLU chapter of CKP is one of 29 kitchens nation-wide and one of two in New York State. It has been in operation since fall 2011 and serves approximately 80 meals each Monday to those in need in the greater Canton community. Free nutritionally balanced meals are made from re-claimed food from Dana, Cheney at SUNY Canton, bread from Price Chopper and fresh produce from local farms. A mandatory kitchen orientation must be completed before hours can begin.

TRANSPORTATION: All students must meet at Eben Holden at 4:45 to utilize SLU van transportation.
