Program Description:
The Akwesasne Semester is an off-campus program that stems from a partnership between St. Lawrence University, The State University of New York at Potsdam and the Akwesasne Boys and Girls Club. Students participating in this program will take all their classes on the Akwesasne Mohawk Reservation while interning (4 hours per week) at local tribal agencies and organizations within the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe. Students can expect to spend most afternoons, following their classes, mentoring at the Akwesasne Boys and Girls Club and the Akwesasne Freedom School. Ten students will participate in this unique and engaging semester. Students participating in this off-campus program will take 4.0/4.5 units of course work.
