Research and Special Opportunities

Faculty-student collaboration is at the heart of the St. Lawrence education. Research projects are perfect for such interaction, and we do everything we can to make your research quest possible. Our students have the chance to do research that's typical of graduate-level education. What a great way to learn!

Over 100 students each year join faculty members in research projects, or are sponsored by St. Lawrence to conduct their own research projects.

University Fellows Program
A competitive, proposals-based program that provides a summer stipend for students to work on a challenging project under the close guidance of a faculty member. University Fellows are given housing in our Steiner Senior Residences.

Festival of Science
Our annual event invites science students to present their research to the campus community, and hear the feedback of faculty and guests.

Professional Conferences
Students regularly attend and give presentations at such professional conferences as the Eastern Psychological Association, the American Chemical Society, The Geological Society of America, and the Hudson River Math Conference.

Career and Graduate School Guidance
In addition to the Health Careers Committee, St. Lawrence's career services staff is ready to put its resources to work for you. Our Career Library includes graduate school listings, books for assisting with the application process, test preparation guides and test booklets, and grant and scholarship information. In addition, an appointment with a career advisor can be helpful at any stage in the process; advisors can read an application essay, help you develop a resume for your application or assistantship search, or work with you to find ways to fund your graduate education.
