AWU awards graduate fellowships to qualified master's and doctoral degree candidates in science, mathematics, engineering, and technology. The fellowships term ranges from one-twelve months, and may include a stipend of $1,300 per month and up.

Aids the most capable students in the applied physical sciences to promote the enhancement of the defense potential and technological stature of the U.S. Awards in $17,000 stipend per nine-month academic year, plus an educational allowance of up to $12,000 to the academic institution.

ELIGIBILITY: Must be a U.S. citizen; must be entering graduate school in an applied physical science program; must have at least an A- GPA or better for the last three undergraduate years.

The National Physical Science Consortium offers a unique six year doctoral fellowship program in astronomy, chemistry, computer science, geology, material science, mathematical sciences, physics, and subdisciplines at universities which are part of the consortium.

ELIGIBILITY: Must be a U.S. citizen, accepted for study at one of the member universities of the Consortium, must have research experience at a university, and high GRE scores.
