St. Lawrence University's Career Services welcomes recruiters to contact our office either by telephone, facsimile or E-mail, indicating their interests in our students for either internships, summer or full time positions.

  • Have international experience. Many St. Lawrence students participate in one or more study abroad programs.

  • Demonstrate comfort and sophistication with technology that applies across industries.

  • Complete internships in diverse settings and industries.

  • Seek challenging positions in a variety of fields upon graduation.

On-Campus Recruiting Program
The University operates on a two-semester calendar. Recruiting occurs during each semester, October 1 - December 15, and February 1 - April 20. We offer a prescreening method through which students submit resumes to our office for your position(s). Our office then forwards the resumes for your review, and you select candidates whom you would like to interview. After you notify our office of your selections, we notify our students and schedule the interviews.

If you would prefer, we will also be happy to arrange an open sign-up schedule in which students reserve interview slots on a first-come, first-served basis.

Liberal Arts Career Network (LACN)

St. Lawrence University is a member of this national consortia of 25 highly-selective liberal arts colleges. LACN offers employers a variety of services that:

  • enhance ability to market job openings
  • evaluate candidates
  • locate interns and trainees for management programs or entry-level positions

Employers can easily access a combined pool of 60,000 highly-competitive students. If you would like to post an employment opportunity that reaches all 25 colleges, contact the St. Lawrence University Recruiting Coordinator, Sarah Coburn, at 315-229-5906 for more details.

Sponsoring A St. Lawrence Intern

St. Lawrence interns are dynamic, energetic individuals who can contribute a fresh perspective and provide temporary assistance with special projects. For employers, this represents a valuable opportunity to "try out" students as potential employees with little or no risk.

Because the academic year at St. Lawrence follows a traditional, two-semester calendar, Career Services suggests two different options for internships: January recess (approximately 3 to 4 weeks) and/or Summer (up to 12 weeks). You may also choose to design a program option that complements your organization's schedule.

Compensation is at the discretion of the sponsoring organization. In an ideal world, all interns would be paid yet it is not a requirement for sponsoring organizations.

To post an internship, complete an Internship Information Form at http://www.stlawu.edu/career/internships/intform.php. You may also contact our Internship Coordinator, Emily McDonnell or call 315-229-5906. Once we receive your internship description our staff will begin publicizing your opportunity to the campus community. Interested students will contact you directly or we can establish a more formal Resume Referral and collect application materials for you. Additionally, to arrange on-campus interviews, contact our Internship Coordinator.

If you are an alumnus of St. Lawrence and would like to participate in our Alumni Internship Program, please contact Emily McDonnell, our Internship Coordinator.
