Laurentians in Residence brings Laurentian leaders to campus to connect with students, faculty and staff. Five Laurentians will be on campus October 8-9, for classroom presentations, group meetings and informational interviews.

The main event is a panel discussion on Thursday, October 8, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hannon Room, Student Center. The panel will be focused on students' career interests, though faculty and staff are welcome to attend. Sponsored in part by the Alumni Executive Council.

Jeff Deyette

JEFF DEYETTE '95

Assistant Director of Energy Research, Union of Concerned Scientists

Jeff Deyette ’95 is the assistant director of energy research and a senior energy analyst in the Climate and Energy program at the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS). Mr. Deyette conducts analysis on the economic and environmental costs and benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency policies. He has written extensively for UCS and various renewable energy industry publications on the consumer, employment and environmental benefits of increasing renewable energy use. Jeff holds an M.S. from Boston University in energy resource and environmental management and international relations.


Kathy Frommer

KATHY FROMMER P'17

CEO, CRS Retail Systems

Kathy Frommer P’17 has served as CEO and co-founder of CRS Retail Systems. CRS was one of the largest providers of software for retailers in the United States. She successfully guided the company through extensive growth, acquisitions and major technology initiatives. She also led CRS through a successful partnership with Accel-KKR, a leading private equity firm, and then through an acquisition by Epicor Software. She serves on the board of the Bethel Words Center for the Arts (Bethel Woods is the original site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival) and on the Orange County Community College Foundation board. She graduated from The George Washington University with a BA in international politics, and is the parent of Kevin Frommer ’17.


Anne McGrath

ANNE McGRATH '75

Managing Editor of Publications, U.S. News and World Report

Anne McGrath ’75 is the managing editor of publications at U.S. News & World Report in Washington, D.C., where she oversees several annual special issues in higher education and medicine, including Best Graduate Schools and Best Colleges. She previously was the health editor for both the weekly magazine and usnews.com, and, as a reporter, wrote extensively on education, personal finance and investing. She graduated with majors in English and French and taught high school English for several years before earning a master's degree in communications at Syracuse University and launching her journalism career as a reporter at Forbes magazine in New York.

Jennifer Rapke

JENNIFER LORENCE RAPKE '03

Psychologist, New York Spine and Wellness Center

Jennifer Lorence Rapke ‘03 is a licensed clinical psychologist at New York Spine & Wellness Center in Syracuse, where she is the manager of the new Integrated Behavioral Health department. She completed her Psy.D. in clinical psychology with a dual emphasis in health psychology and child, adolescent and family psychology at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. Her areas of expertise are grief and bereavement, trauma, and severe emotional and behavioral disturbances. Jennifer presents and consults on grief and trauma psychology both regionally and nationally, and has provided expert witness testimony in local and federal sexual abuse and sexual assault cases. She has taught courses in clinical, health, trauma and developmental psychology at SUNY Oswego, Syracuse University, Western Kentucky University and Spalding University.

JENNIFER WINFIELD YOUNG '85

President, J. Young Consulting

Jennifer Winfield Young '85 is the president of J. Young Consulting LLC. Jenn has almost 30 years of experience in the investment industry, most recently as the chairman and CEO of INTECH, LLC, an institutional money management firm headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida. In addition to her executive experience, Jenn has a background in marketing, distribution and new business development, in addition to product development and investment operations. She graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1985, majoring in economics, and received her MBA in finance from Clarkson University in 1986.
