As the title suggests, program selections include many diverse works composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791), including the overture and aria from The Marriage of Figaro, the Turkish Rondo, Ave Verum Corpus, Symphony No. 25 in g minor, and others. Additional works not composed by Mozart are The Old Church, by Stephen Paulus, and Musica notturna delle strade di Madrid, by Luigi Boccherini.

The University Chorus and orchestra, comprised of students and community members led by Barry Torres, orchestra prepared by Christian Hosmer, present Benjamin Britten’s Saint Nicolas, text by Eric Crozier, featuring Steven Brennfleck. http://web1.desales.edu/default.aspx?pageid=7027 Saint Nicolas was written in 1948 for the centennial celebration of Lancing College in Sussex, and was Britten’s first piece written for performance by amateur musicians.

Hear the historic Estey Organ, Opus 2422, in Gunnison Memorial Chapel. Music by Pescetti, Rheinberger, Trapp, Dupré and J. S. Bach will demonstrate the colors of the organ. Sondra Goldsmith Proctor, Musician-in-Residence, will be at the console for the recital. Bring all your ‘organ’ questions for a conversation after the recital.

Then enjoy a guided tour of the stained glass windows of the chapel as you learn about the historical significance of this treasured St. Lawrence place as well as the meaning behind the messages interwoven through each window.
The Annual Blessing of the Animals is sponsored by the Chaplain's Office and the Newman Club (Campus Catholic Ministries). Bring your cats, dogs, or other animals to be blessed in this special tradition in honor of St. Francis of Assisi on his feast day. If your pet is not available, bring a picture of your pet. Snacks for both humans and animals will be provided.
