My name is Jeff Mogavero, and I’m a senior Conservation Biology major from Havertown, PA. I live in the Green House (the low-impact living theme house), and am involved with the Environmental Action Organization, a guide for the Outdoor Program, a member of ODK and Tri-Beta, and am a Senior Admissions Fellow. Last semester, I spent about three and a half months in Bolivia learning Spanish, volunteering for an environmental education non-profit, and traveling through Bolivia and Peru. My time at St. Lawrence has been filled with incredible outdoor experiences, both academic and extracurricular. As a Con Bio major, I’ve been able to do everything from prowling nearby forests for mushrooms to sampling local lakes and rivers to exploring the summit of Whiteface Mountain in search of alpine mosses. I’m super excited to be spending my senior year expanding on work done in a previous limnology class by conducting research on zooplankton in a very unique Adirondack bog. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to lead my own research and delve into the world of scientific inquiry during my undergraduate years.
