I am a biology major at St. Lawrence University and I am interested in pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. Specifically, I am interested in equine science and aspire to work in emergency medicine. I currently work as a lab technician in the vivarium as well as a teaching assistant for microbiology. I feel that St. Lawrence University has provided me with superior academic opportunities as well as allowed me to grow as a student. As a summer SLU Fellow, I took soil samples from hog farms in the North Country in the hopes of determining if manure exposure alters soil bacteria to be antibiotic resistant. From this research opportunity I have gained an immense amount of experience in trouble shooting and research techniques. In my spare time I enjoy hiking and photography which allow me to take advantage of the North Country’s gorgeous scenery. I’m also an English minor and I love reading Jane Austen’s work.
