A five-time winner of the Collegiate Cup, symbolic of the
Intercollegiate Horse Show Association's national team champion, St. Lawrence
University's riding team is one of the top programs nationally.
The Saints were the reserve national championship team in
2008 and finished 12th in 2009. They were represented by individual
riders in the 2010 championships including Suzanne Snyder who rode as the
region's high point rider in the competition for the Cacchione Cup, the top
individual competition for intercollegiate riders.
St. Lawrence's co-ed program has produced a number of
individual national champions including Kristin Putnam '10, the 2008
Walk-Trot-Canter national champion. St. Lawrence riders have won a total of 20
national individual titles including 10 under head coach Mary Drueding.
St. Lawrence University juniors Jordan Koivu and Suzanne
Snyder each had solid showings at the 2010 Intercollegiate Horse Show
Association National Championship Show at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY
last weekend.
St. Lawrence University's riding program will be represented
by two riders in the 2010 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National
Championship Show at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY May 6.
Mar. 20: St. Lawrence
University's riding team will be well represented at the Zone II Championships
on April 10th , as seven riders advanced from the 2010 Hunt Seat
Regional Championships held at the Elsa Gunnison Appleton Riding Hall on
Saturday.
St. Lawrence University's equestrian team finished second in
the final two Intercollegiate Horse Show Association shows prior to regional
competition on Saturday and Sunday.
Jordan Koivu earned High Point Rider honors in Saturday's
home show at the Elsa Gunnison Appleton Riding Hall and is one of six St.
Lawrence riders to have qualified for the regional championships.
The Saint riding team opened the 2009-10 season with a team
victory in the first show of the year and turned in some strong individual
performances in a second show on Sunday despite missing a top-three team
finish.
2011-12: Jenna studied abroad during her junior year.
2010-11: National champion in walk-trot at the 2011 IHSA National Show, Jenna Gunnell was reserve champion in the Region II championship and won the zone championship. She also had a win and a second place finish in walk-trot during the regular show season.
At the Williams School: Jenna was a member of the soccer and lacrosse teams. She was a captain of the soccer team as both a junior and senior and was a All Star team member. She was an honors student.
