Saint Team, 3 Individuals Advance To IHSA Nationals

St. Lawrence University's riding team qualified as a team to compete in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association national championship show in Raleigh, NC May 3-6 and the Saints will send three individuals to the national show as well after a strong performance at the Zone II Championships at Skidmore on Saturday.

Mary Drueding To Receive IHSA Achievement Award

St. Lawrence University director of riding and equestrian coach Mary Drueding will be honored by the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her contributions to collegiate riding at the 2012 IHSA national championship horse show in May.

Saints Sweep Their Way to Regional High Point Championship

St. Lawrence University's riding team broke out the broom for the final weekend of the 2011-12 intercollegiate horse show regular season, sweeping its way to a second straight regional high point team finish, its first win at Cazenovia since 2007 and a perfect score in the final show of the season.

The St. Lawrence and Cazenovia riding teams, perennially at the top of Zone 2, Region 2 point standings, traded home show victories to open the 2011-12 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association season.

2011-12: Hannah competed in intermediate on the flat in her first year on the riding team and had a win and a third in the Geneseo shows.

At the Blake School: Hannah played hockey and lacrosse at the Blake School in addition to riding.

Sheila Murray '15

Bow High School

2011-12: Sheila had a win in her first intercollegiate show in walk-trot-canter and had a third in the Cazenovia Fall show and had a second to help the Saints win at Cazenovia for the first time since 2007 in the spring.

A member of the Nordic ski team in addition to competing in equestrian competitions, Sheila was a member of the 2011 Nordic state championship team and placed seventh at the horseback riding team states for jumping. She was a member of the National Honor Society, a Honor Roll student and a New Hampshire Scholar.
