2011-12: Jordan had his season cut short by a fractured arm sustained at Brown. He played in 22 games for the Saints and scored four goals and assisted on three others. He scored his first goal of the year in the season opener against Ferris State and also scored in a 4-1 win over Clarkson at Lake Placid and against Michigan Tech.He had the assist on the game winning goal at Brown before being injured.

2010-11: Jordan Dewey played in 36 of 40 games for the Saints as a sophomore and had two goals and six assists with one of the two goals coming on the power play.He scored his first goal of the year against Princeton at Appleton Arena and his other came in a 5-3 win over nationally ranked RPI also at home. That game was his first career multi-point game as he assisted on the game's first goal.

2009-10: A player who showed steady progress as a rookie blueliner, Jordan Dewey played in 20 straight games at the end of the season after alternating early in the year. He scored his first collegiate point with an assists in a 5-2 win over Boston College and had his first collegiate goal in  the 5-2 win over Brown.

A team captain at Westminster School where he also played soccer and lacrosse, Jordan Dewey played 49 games for the Georgetown Raiders last season and had seven goals and 29 assists for 36 points. He had four power play goals and 14 power play points and also scored one game winning goal.

2011-12: George played in 31 games for the Saints and against was the leading scorer among defensemen with four goals and 20 assissts for 24 points. He had 27 blocked shots and was a key on the power play for the Saints, contributing 13 power play points. He scored the game winner at Dartmouth and assistsed on the overtime game winner at Yale and on the game winner in game two against Quinnipiac. He missed five games in early December with an injury, but returned with a four-point performance in the Ledyard tournament including two goals in a 6-6 tie with #7 Merrimack.


2010-11:
The winner of the Pete McGeough Award as the outstanding Saint defenseman as a sophomore and named an assistant captain for the 2011-12 season, George Hughes had an outstanding sophomore season and was the anchor of a young Saint defense. Just the third sophomore to earn the McGeough Award, Hughes scored four goals and assisted on 17 others and led the team in blocked shots. Two of his four goals were on the power play.

2009-10: A member of the ECAC All Rookie Team, George Hughes was a big part of the Saint defensive success as a rookie and was a key contributor offensively as well. George played in 41 games as a rookie and scored five goals and assisted on 18 for 23 points. He finished fourth in the league and was the top freshman, in defenseman scoring and was tied for sixth among all rookies in scoring. He was selected to the ECAC Hockey pre-season All Star squad to start his sophomore year.

2011-12:David's lone appearance as a junior came at Michigan as he gav eup three goals on 10 shots in 20 minutes of action.

2010-11: David Grilk made his collegiate debut in relief in a home loss to Dartmouth and made his first collegiate start at Harvard in the final game of the regular season. He saved 30 of 34 shots in the Harvard game.


A big, tall goaltender, David Grilk will battle for ice time as a rookie. He was captain at the Holderness school and had a .900 save percentage and a 3.25 goals against average last season. A Hockey Night in Boston All Star, he also played soccer and golf at Holderness and was an honor roll student. He has excellent quickness for a big goaltender and has good  anticipation.

2011-12: Matt missed the entire 2011-12 season due to injury.

2010-11: Matt Dyer played in 25 games as a sophomore, most of them at center after starting the season on defense. He scored his first collegiate goal on the power play in a win at Sacred Heart and had an assist in game one of the Ferris State series and game two of the Michigan Tech series.

2009-10: Matt Dyer appeared in nine games for the Saints as a rookie and scored his first collegiate point with an assist in a 4-3 win at Clarkson.

One of  five rookie defensemen on the Saint roster, Matt Dyer had eight goals and 16 assists in 43 games for the South Shore Kings in the EJHL last season. He had five power play goals, a shorthander and two game winners. He also played lacrosse and soccer at the Gunnery School and was captain of the soccer team and led the lacrosse team in scoring as a senior.

2011-12: Became the first junior since TJ Trevelyan to reach the 100 point plateau with an assist in the final game of the season. Missed eight games due to injury at mid-season. Was MVP of the Ledyard Tournament and ECAC Player of the Week upon his return, scoring three goals and assisting on three others in the touranment. He was among the league leaders in points per game overall with  14 goals and a team-high 23 assists for 37 points in 28 games. He had nine power play goals, a shorthander and two game winners. He scored the game winner and only goal of the game in overtime at Quinnipiac and had the game winner agaisnt Quinnipiac at home. He assisted on the game winners in the RPI, Yale overtime and Colgate games.


2010-11:
Named co-Most Valuable Player for the Saints as a sophomore Kyle Flanagan will be a Saint captain for the 2011-12 season, becoming just the second Canton native to captain the Saints. His brother Sean was assistant captain in 2010-11 and uncle Paul, now head women's coach at Syracuse, was assistant captain in 1979-80. Kyle Flanagan was the second leading scorer for the Saints as a sophomore with 12 goals and 23 assists. He had seven power play goals and two game winners, one in a 3-0 win over Cornell and the other in a 4-0 win at Colgate.He scored in 24 of 39 appearances and had eight multi-point games. He earned ECAC Player of the Week honors after a three-goal, one-assist weekend in a home sweep of Cornell and Colgate.

Andrew Allen Will Assist SLU Hockey Goaltenders

Andrew Allen, a former University of Vermont goaltender who had a six-year professional hockey career, will work with St. Lawrence University's men's hockey team as goaltending coach in 2009-10.

Miskovic Named All America

April 10: St. Lawrence University senior defenseman Zach Miskovic was named a first-team All America in voting by the American Hockey Coaches Association.

Saints Schedule Includes Two Trips West

St. Lawrence University’s 2009-10 men’s ice hockey schedule will include two trips to college hockey’s “west” including an appearance in the Icebreaker Tournament hosted by the University of Nebraska at Omaha to start the official NCAA season.


The Saints will unveil the 2009-10 team in an exhibition game against the University of Toronto on Sunday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m. at Appleton Arena. They then open NCAA play, joining Nebraska-Omaha, Army and UMass.-Lowell in Omaha for the Icebreaker Oct. 9-10 and play their first official home games with Niagara and RIT visiting Appleton Arena on Oct. 16-17.


The first of three meetings with arch-rival Clarkson will take place in Potsdam on Oct. 24 in a non-league game and the Saints will complete pre-ECAC play with Sacred Heart at Appleton for two games on Oct. 30-31.


SLU opens league play at Princeton and Quinnipiac Nov. 6-7, hosts Union and RPI on Nov. 13-14 and is at Harvard and Dartmouth Nov. 20-21. The Saints will play Maine in Portland in a non-league game on Nov. 29 and will play a back-to-back league series with Clarkson on Dec. 4 and 5, meeting the Knights in Canton on the fourth at 7:30 and playing at Clarkson on the fifth at 7 p.m. First semester play concludes with a game at Vermont on Dec. 12.

Vermuelen, D. Keller To Captain Saints

Seniors Travis Vermuelen and Derek Keller will be the captains of the 2009-10 St. Lawrence University men’s hockey team and three other players will wear the “A” of assistant captains.


Joining Vermeulen and Keller will be seniors Mike McKenzie and Alex Curran and junior Aaron Bogosian as assistants.


Vermeulen, a center from Centerville, MN,  is coming off his most prolific season offensively after scoring seven goals and assisting on 13 in 39 games as a junior. An outstanding penalty killer, he has four career shorthanded goals and will enter his senior season with 18 goals and 25 assists in 106 career games. He took only three penalties in 39 games in the 2008-09 season.


Derek Keller, a defenseman from Wilkie, SASK, is one of two returning regulars on the blue line for the Saints and is also coming off an outstanding season as a junior. Keller scored his first career goal and finished the season with three goals and five assists for eight points in 33 games. He had a plus-eight plus/minus rating. He has played in 93 career games and has three goals and 16 assists.


McKenzie was the leading scorer for the Saints as a junior with 16 goals and 18 assists for 34 points in 39 games. He was also plus-eight in the plus/minus ratings and should join the 100 point club as a senior as he enters his final collegiate season with 35 goals and 44 assists for 79 points in 104 career games.
