Saints to Kick-Off 2011 Campaign Against Utica

Sept. 2: The St. Lawrence University football team will look to kick-off its 2011 season in style on Saturday, as the team hosts Utica College at Leckonby Stadium at 2:00pm.

Maxwell Johnson '15

2011:  Johnson saw limited action in his rookie season with the Saints, but will compete for playing time at wide receiver in his sophomore campaign.

Mike Brewster '15

2011:  Brewster appeared in games against Norwich and Alfred in his first season, and will compete for playing time at linebacker as a sophomore.

Brewster was a tri-sport athlete, competing on the football, basketball and baseball teams. The Hoosick Falls, NY native captained the football squad for two season and twice earned First Team All-League recognition. Brewster was also a two-time All-State honoree for his play on the gridiron.

Liam Ward '15

Luke Lendway '15

2011:  Lendway saw limited action in his first year at St. Lawrence, but will compete for a spot along the offensive line next season.  

At Fair Haven Union
Lendway was a three-sport student-athlete, participating in football, basketball and golf. The Benson, VT native captained the football team and earned both All-State Offense honors as well as recognition as a Maple Sugar Bowl player.

2011:   Lesofsky appeared in eight games in his first season with the Saints where he recorded eight tackles and a pass break-up.  

At Middlesex School
Lesofsky was a tri-sport athlete, competing in football, basketball and baseball. The Tyngsboro, MA native served as a captain for the football squad and earned All-League and All-New England honors for his play on the gridiron.

Shane Hart '14

2011:  Hart saw limited action in his sophomore season, but will compete for time at linebacker next season.

Hart was a four-sport student-athlete, competing in football, basketball, golf and lacrosse. The Barre, VT native, who was invited to play in the Senior Showcase All-Star game, earned First Team All-State and First Team Times Argus honors in football.

2011:   Metzgar did not see any game time in his first year with the Saints, but will compete for a spot in the line-up next season.  

At Dexter/Pomfret School
Metzgar played both football and basketball, earning Evergreen League All-Conference honors twice for his play on the gridiron. The Natick, MA native captained the football squad at Dexter in his senior season before heading to the Pomfret School as a post-grad year. 

Colby Johnson '15

2011:  Johnson appeared in seven games in his rookie season where he recorded 83 yards on five receptions.  He earned Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors for his play against Utica.

Johnson was a three-sport athlete, playing football, basketball and baseball. The North Attleboro, MA native earned Hockomock League All-Star honors for his play on the baseball diamond.

Ryan Schmidt '15

Schmidt was a four-sport athlete, competing in football, basketball, golf and baseball. The Amherst, NY native earned Western New York All-Star honors for both his play on the gridiron and on the basketball court.
