Four Turnovers Cost Saints in Opening Loss to No. 16 Ithaca

Sept. 4: The St. Lawrence University football team dropped its 2010 season opener on Saturday in Ithaca, NY to the nationally-ranked No. 16 Bombers from Ithaca College.  The Saints, who kept within striking distance throughout much of the game, were done in by four turnovers, one of which, a 66-yard interception return for a touchdown by Mike Conti, was the turning point of the game.

Sept. 2: The St. Lawrence University football team will take the field for the first time under new head coach Mark Raymond on Saturday, as the Scarlet and Brown travel to Ithaca, NY to square-off with the Bombers of Ithaca College in the 2010 season opener.

2011: Green earned a spot on the Liberty League's All-Academic team while continuing to serve as a back-up defensive lineman in his sophomore year.

Green served as a valuable scout team player in his first season and will compete for playing time in his second year.

Dan Puckhaber

Dan Puckhaber was hired in the summer of 2010 to coach the St. Lawrence University football team's offensive line, and he was promoted to offensive coordinator for the 2012 season.

Puckhaber was a decorated student-athlete before graduating from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Science degree in December of 2003.  A certified strength and conditioning coach, he was a four-year contributor for the Bombers at defensive end, and helped Ithaca to a 32-12 record and an NCAA Tournament appearance while on the team.  In his senior season, Dan was a First Team All-Empire 8 selection and a Second Team All-ECAC honoree.  He was also the recipient of the Jim Butterfield Memorial Award and the Honorary Defensive Captain Award.

2011:   Keller appeared in two games in sophomore season, including Norwich and Alfred.  He earned Liberty League All-Academic honors for his efforts in the classroom.  

2010: Keller served as a valuable scout team player in his rookie season, and will compete for playing time in his sophomore campaign.

Paxton Cane '14

2011:   Cane saw limited action as a sophomore, but will compete for playing time in the trenches in his junior campaign.  

2010: Cane served as a valuable scout team player in his first season at St. Lawrence.

Cane was a stand-out football player, as he was given All-League honors.

2011:   Cox saw action in eight games as a sophomore where he made 40 tackles, including 5.0 for a loss, 1.5 sacks and three pass break-ups.  

2010: Cox made an immediate impact for the Saints in his rookie year, as he played in eight games and made a rookie-high 23 solo tackles.  The Sherman, CT native also made 3.0 tackles for a loss and will compete for a starting role in his sophomore season.

At Trinity Pawling School

Cox was a three-sport captain, leading three of the schools teams including Football, Ski Racing and Track and Field. The Sherman, CT native earned Most Valuable Player honors for both the ski and track squads.

Tim Casey '14

2011:   Casey, a Liberty League All-Academic selection, will compete for playing time on the offensive line in his junior season. 

2010: Casey, who is majoring in history at St. Lawrence, was as a valuable scout team player in his rookie year.

At Longmeadow

Casey was a dual-sport athlete, competing in Football and Track and Field. The Longmeadow, MA native earned a spot on the All-Academic Team and was Second Team All-Scholastic.

Obi Nwaigwe '14

2011:  Nwaigwe appeared in nine games in his sophomore season where he recorded 13 tackles.  

2010: Nwaigwe served as a valuable scout team player in his first season.  He is expected to move to linebacker and compete for playing time in his sophomore campaign.

At Valley Stream South

Nwaigwe was a decorated four-sport student-athlete, as he participated in Football, Track and Field, Volleyball and Basketball. The Valley Stream, NY native was All-State and the District Champion in the high jump and was a two-time All-County basketball selection.
