Saints Climb Four Spots to #8 in National Poll

Sept. 23: Fresh of its win at the 2010 Oneonta Invitational/Pre-Regional race, the St. Lawrence University men's cross country team has jumped up four places and is now the No. 8 team in the country.

Ramsey, Saints Win Oneonta Invitational

Sept. 17: The St. Lawrence University men's cross country team, ranked 12th in the national polls, picked up an impressive team victory on Friday at the 2010 Oneonta Invitational/Pre-Regional, as the team, led by senior captain Dan Ramsey, won the 8k race with a team total of 42 points. 

Eng Runner-Up at North Country Five Meet

Sept. 8: St. Lawrence University first-year student Jon Eng finished in second place overall on Wednesday afternoon at the 2010 North Country Five meet held at Paul Smiths College.

Saints Enter Season Ranked No. 12 in the Nation

Sept. 2: The St. Lawrence University men's cross country team enters the 2010 season ranked No. 12 in the country, according the first United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll announced on Wednesday.  The Scarlet and Brown are tied with 188 points with Williams College out of the NESCAC.

Zach Nelson '14

2012: Zach had a solid junior season for the Saints, running in six races with a top finish of seventh in the Plattsburgh Invitational. He was a career best 33rd in the NYSCTC Championship and finished 24th in the Liberty League Championships. He earned Liberty League All Academic honors.

2011: Nelson bounced back nicely from an injury in his rookie season, as he worked his way into the line-up for both the Liberty League and NYSCTC Championships.  A member of the Liberty League's All-Academic team, Zach posted a collegiate-best time of 27:06 at the 2011 Saratoga Invitational.

2010:
Nelson's season was cut short due to injury, though he did return to have a successful outdoor track and field season in the spring of 2011.  Zach finished in 30th place at the North Country Five Meet, his only cross country event of 2010.

At Albany Academy
Nelson was a tri-sport athlete, competing in Cross Country as well as Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field.  The Knox, NY native was a three-time MVP of the cross country squad and was a four-time Colonial Council All-Star.  A High Honor Roll student, Zach was the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award for both track and field and cross country.

Corey Hahnl '14

2012: Corey had a career best eighth place finish in the Plattsburgh Invitational and also ran in his first NYSCTC and Liberty League Championlships, placing 49th in the NYSCTC and 34th in the Liberty League.

2011:
Hahnl improved his career-best time by nearly 30 seconds at the 2011 Hoffmann Invitational/Pre-Regional.  Corey competed in four events and had a season-best showing of 12th place at the North Country Five meet.

2010:
Hahnl raced in two events during his first season, including the Hoffmann Invitational (30th) and the North Country Five Meet (22nd).

At Milford
Hahnl was a tri-sport stand-out athlete, captaining the Cross Country as well as Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field.  The Milford, NH native is a two-time All-State honoree for track and field and is part of the Class I 4x800 relay record holding team.  Corey also excelled in the classroom, as he was a High Honor Roll student and was inducted into the National Honor Society.

2012: Spencer ran in three races for the Saints as a junior and had a career best second place finish in the North Country Five meet. He also had a career best with a 52nd place finish in the Liberty League.

2011: Fausel raced in four events as a sophomore, recording his top collegiate time of 27:33 at the 2011 Saratoga Invitational.   Spencer closed the year with two top-20 finishes, including a third place showing at the North Country Five meet.

2010:
Fausel competed in the North Country Five Meet in his rookie season, posting a time of 18:56 for 31st place overall.

Jon Eng '14

2012: Jon ran in four races as a junior with a ninth place finish at Plattsburgh his top race. He was 32nd in the Liberty League Championships and 46th in the NYSCTC Championship.

2011:
Eng competed in five races as a sophomore, including the Liberty League Championship and Hoffmann Invitational/Pre-Regional.  He was seventh overall in the North Country Five meet and posted a season-best time of 27:52 at the Saratoga Invitational.

2010:
Eng raced in four events during his rookie season, including a second place showing at the North Country Five Meet.  The Norwood, NY native was 25th in the Liberty League Championships and had a best time of 27:08 at the Pre-Regional.

At Norwood-Norfolk

Eng was the captain of both the Cross Country and Track and Field teams. A 15-time All-Conference honoree, he was named the NAC's Most Valuable Performer three times. Jon, who was inducted into the National Honor Society, was also a High Honor Roll student.

2012: Brendan was a consistent top seven runner for the Saints as a junior and had career best finishes in all of the major meets. He had four top 20 finishes including a career best fourth at the Liberty League Championship, earning first team All Liberty League. He was 12th and the third Saint scorer at the NYSCTC Championship and the third Saint scorer in the Atlantic Regional with a 29th place finish. He improved his best NCAA finish by over 20 spots with a 251st place, scoring 197th.He earned Liberty League All Academic honors.

Steve Petramale '14

2012: Liberty League All Academic for the second straight year, Steve returned to action and recorded a career best 20th in the Liberty League Championships as a junior. He was 24th in the Plattsburgh Invitational to open the season  and had a 27th place finish in the Hoffmann Invitational.

2011:
Petramale was forced to miss his sophomore season due to injury.  However, the Queensbury, NY native, who looks to return to action in 2012, did earn a spot on the Liberty League's All-Academic squad.

2010:
Petramale ran two solid races before being forced to miss the rest of the season with an injury.  The Queensbury, NY native, who will be a runner to watch in the future, had a collegiate best time of 25:58 for a 21st place finish at the Hoffmann Invitational.

At Lake George High

Petramale was a tri-sport student-athlete, competing in Cross Country, Nordic Skiing and Track and Field. The Queensbury, NY native is a three-time league champion and four-time section winner. A member of three Honor Societies, Steve was a three-year captain and earned a spot on the Principal's List for academic achievement.
