Kiplagat wins 2011 North Country Five Meet

Sept. 7: St. Lawrence University senior Steve Kiplagat made his 2011 cross country season debut in style on Wednesday, as the 2010 All-American won the North Country Five Meet in Canton, NY.

Johnston, No. 3 Saints Capture “Cardinal Classic”

Sept. 3: The St. Lawrence University men's cross country team, ranked third in the national pre-season poll, won the 2011 "Cardinal Classic" on Saturday afternoon in Plattsburgh, NY. 

No. 3 Saints to Begin 2011 Campaign at Plattsburgh State

Sept. 2: The St. Lawrence University men's cross country team, ranked first in the Atlantic Region and third in the country, will open its 2011 season on Saturday in Plattsburgh, NY at the annual "Cardinal Classic."

2012: Tyler competed in two races as a sophomore, finishing 32nd in the North Country Five and 84th in the Liberty League Championship.He earned Liberty League All Academic honors.

2011: Baldino raced in two events for St. Lawrence in his rookie season, including the Hoffmann Invitational/Pre-Regional and the Cardinal Classic, where he posted his season-best showing of 46th place.

At Sutherland
Baldino was a three-sport athlete, running for the school's cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field teams. The Pittsford, NY native captained both the cross country and outdoor track teams during his senior campaign while earning both the Sportsmanship Award (XC) and the Community Service Award. Tyler was also an Honor Roll student and a member of the National Honor Society.

2012: Aaron ran in four races for the Saints as a sophomore with a top finish of 23rd in the Plattsburgh Invitational. He was 40th in the Liberty League Championship, 55th and the fifth Saint scorer at the Rochester Pre-Regional and was the fifth Saint scorer at the Paul Short race at Lehigh before an injury slowed his season.

2011: Tompkins was a solid addition to St. Lawrence's line-up in his rookie season, racing in six events including a 17th place finish at the Liberty League Championship.  The New Hartford, NY native had his collegiate-fastest time at the Saratoga Invitational, where he ran in 26:54 for 20th place.

At New Hartford

Tompkins was an Honor Roll student that ran for both the cross country and track and field teams. The New Hartford, NY native was All-CNY for cross country, and won the Section III title in three track events. Aaron was also a state qualifier in the 3000m steeplechase and won the PTSA Art Award.

Daniel Driscoll '15

2012: Dan ran in only one race as  a sophomore, finishing 54th in the Liberty League championship. He earned Liberty League All Academic honors.

2011:
Driscoll raced in three meets during his first year at St. Lawrence and posted a season-best time of 26:54 for a 21st place showing at the Saratoga Invitational.  He was also 10th in the Cardinal Classic and 38th in the Liberty League Championships.

At Jamesville-Dewitt
Driscoll captained the cross country team in his senior year whiel also competing in both indoor and outdoor track and field. The Dewitt, NY native won the section championship in the 1,600m during the outdoor season and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Scott Smolensky '15

2012: Scott had a career best second place finish in the Liberty League Championships and was a consistent scorer for the Saints throughout his sophomore season. He was sixth in the Plattsburgh Invitational and had a 23rd place finish in the NYSCTC Championship.

2011: Smolensky earned Liberty League Rookie of the Year honors after an outstanding first-year campaign.  The Rochester, NY native had top-15 showings in both the Liberty League and NYSCTC Championships.  His time of 26:10 at the Saratoga Invitational was his season's best, and he posted a pair of top-5 finishes as well.

At Brighton

Smolensky was a stand-out runner, as he earned First Team All-State honors while captaining both the cross country and track and field teams. The Rochester, NY native was also the recipient of the New York State Sportsmanship Award.

Trevor Bibb '15

2012: Trevor was a consistent scorer for the Saints as a sophomore and had significant improvements in his major meet finishes, earning second team All Liberty League honors with a ninth in that race and finishing 15th in the NYSCTC Championship. He had four top 20 finishes, was the fifth Saint scorer in the Atlantic Regional and ran in his first NCAA Championship, finishing 213rd overall and scoring 160th. He earned Liberty League All Academic honors. 

2011: Bibb competed in six events during his rookie season at St. Lawrence.  He posted a season-best time of 27:33 for 36th place at the Saratoga Invitational and was second overall in the North Country Five meet.  Bibb also had a solid 36th place showing in the 2011 Liberty League Championship.

At Mt. Mansfield Union
Bibb was a four-sport athlete, competing in cross country, Nordic skiing and indoor and outdoor track and field. The Jericho, VT native was a six-time athletic captain and was the cross country team's Most Valuable Performer in 2010.

Saints to Open 2011 Season Ranked No. 3 in Nation

Aug. 24:  The St. Lawrence University men's cross country team will open the 2011 season on September 3rd as the No. 3 team in the country, the highest ranking in program history.

Trio Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

Feb. 18: Three members of the St. Lawrence University men's cross country team have been awarded United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors, including seniors Dan Ramsey and Jeremy Mwenda and junior Steve Kiplagat.
