Rakoc Has Top Saint Finish at Paul Short Invitational

Sept. 28: Senior Sam Rakoc had an 86th place finish and St. Lawrence University's men's cross country team finished 31st in a 37-team field at the 2012 Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh on Friday.

Rakoc Leads Saint Men at Rochester Invitational

Senior Sam Rakoc finished 13th overall and fifth among Division III runners to help the St. Lawrence University men's cross country team to a solid sixth place finish in the 2012 University of Rochester Cross Country Invitational at Geneseo State Park on Saturday.

Toll Wins North Country 5 Invitational Race

Sept. 12: St. Lawrence University freshman Ellis Toll pulled away from a pair of teammates and won the individual title at the 2012 North Country 5 Invitational on the 5,000 meter Ronald C. Hoffmann Cross Country at St. Lawrence Wednesday afternoon.

Saints Take Eight of Top Ten Spots, Win Cardinal Classic

Sept. 8: St. Lawrence University’s men’s cross country team took eight of the top ten places in Saturday’s Cardinal Classic Cross Country Invitational at Plattsburgh State and rolled to the team title in the three-team event.

2012: The Liberty League Rookie of the Year and a top five runner for the Saints from day one, Spencer Patterson turned in a number of key performances for the Saints during his freshman season. He had four top ten finishes and scored in every race for the Saints. Liberty League Rookie of the Week four times during hte season, he was the second Saint scorer in the NYSCTC Championship with a sixth place finish, was fifth in the Liberty League Championship, earning first-team All League honors and was the second Saint scorer, 18th overall, in the Atlantic Regional. He was the third Saint finisher, 191st and scoring 143rd in the NCAA Championship.

Spencer ran cross country, indoor and outdoor track and played soccer at Saratoga Springs High School. He was the 1600 indoor state champion, a captain of his teams and a Suburban Council All Star. He was also a honor roll student.

2012: Jason ran five races for the Saints as a rookie with a top finish of third in the North Country Invitational. He finished 64th in the NYSCTC CHampionship and was 45th in the Liberty League Championship.

Jason ran cross country and indoor and outdoor track at Mt. Mansfield and was on three team state champions. He captained the teams as a senior and was a honor roll student.

2012: Jeff had a solid rookie season for the Saints with a top finish of 15th in the Plattsburgh Invitational. He also had a 33rd place finish in the HOffmann Invitational.  He was 48th in the NYSCTC Championship and finished 28th in the Liberty League Championship.

Cross country captain and the winner of the Coaches Award, Jeff Mogavero was All-Delco first team for Haverford High School and also ran indoor track. He was a National Honor Society member and a honor roll student.

Young Saint Team Out To Belie Rankings

Aug 28: When the 2012 pre-season rankings for Division III men's cross country were released by the US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, St. Lawrence University found itself in an unusual position.

2012: Wesley showed major improvement throughout his rookie season and was the Saints' second scorer in the NCAA Championship, placing 185th and scoring 138th. He was the Saints fourth scorer with a 43rdplace finish in the Atlantic Regional and earned second team All Liberty League honors with a 13th place finish in the league championship. He was 36th in his first race, the Plattsburgh Invitational and finished eighth in the North Country Five. He earned Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors after his run at the NCAA Championship meet.

Wesley Kirui ran cross country and competed in track and field at Mangu High School.
