Saints Finish 29th at Head of the Charles

Oct. 19:  The St. Lawrence University men's crew team finished 29th out of 38 crews Sunday at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, MA.

Oct. 15:  The St.Lawrence Crew team will be competing in the world's largest two-day rowingevent, the National Head of the Charles Regatta Sunday, Oct. 18 in Boston,MA.

Oct. 12:  The St. Lawrence University men's crew team had a strong performance Sunday at the Head of the Genesee in Rochester, NY with both boats finishing within three seconds of each other.

2010-11:  Stripp rowed in the Saints varsity 8+ which defeated RIT and the University of Rochester for the first time in program history in the 2010-11 season.  

2009-10: The novice men's 8+ had a strong season. They were undefeated in the regular season, second at Liberty League Championships, and third in New York State.

2011-12:  Strasenburgh served as coxswain in the Saints varsity 8.  She is an English and psychology double major at St. Lawrence.

2010-11:   Strasenburgh participated in the Saints varsity 8+, which defeated RIT and the University of Rochester for the first time in program history in the 2010-11 season.

2009-10: The novice men's 8+ had a strong season. They were undefeated in the regular season, second at Liberty League Championships, and third in New York State.

Oct. 4:  The St. Lawrence University men's crew team got their 2009-10 season underway Sunday competing against Hamilton College in Clinton, NY.

Saints Kick Off 2009-10 season with Annual Inner Squad Race

Oct. 3:  The St. Lawrence University crew team kicked off their 2009-10 season Saturday with their annual parent's weekend inner squad race on the St. Lawrence River in Waddington, NY.

Saints Win 2009 Liberty League Novice Crew of the Year

May 29: The St. Lawrence University men's novice crew team was named the 2009 Liberty League Novice Crew of the Year on Friday, as the conference handed out its annual awards. The award is the first ever major Liberty League honor the men's program has received.

ECAC Championships Canceled Due to Wind

May 10: The St. Lawrence University men's crew team's season came to an abrupt end on Sunday as high winds made for rough course conditions, forcing the cancelation of the remaining races at the 2009 ECAC Championships in Camden, NJ.

The men's novice eight crew was the only boat to find its way through the 2,000-meter piece on Sunday, placing second in their heat behind Trinity, who clocked in at 6:07.40. St. Lawrence completed the course in a time of 6:13.00, while UVA came in third, followed by Middlebury.

With their finish, the Scarlet and Brown earned a slot in the Grand Final of the event, scheduled for later on in the day, where it became a victim to the high winds and cancelation.

St. Lawrence's novice crew included first years Justin Painter (Kattskill Bay, NY/Northwood), Will Schrade (Slingerlands, NY/Christian Brothers Academy), Brent Underwood (Slovang, CA/Santa Ynez Valley Union), Jamie Cook (Madison, CT/The Williams School), Michael MacNeil (Milton, MA/Thayer Academy), Jon Williams (Higganum, CT/Kent School), Griffin Green (Buffalo, NY/Hutchinson Central Tech), Justin Raffaeli (Pound Ridge, CT/Kent School) and rookie coxswain Mike Cianca (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford-Southerland).

The race wraps up an incredible season for the men's novice crew, who were both Liberty League and New York State champions, and sets up for a very promising 2009-10 campaign.

Novice Men Win Gold at 2009 NYS Championships

May 3: The St. Lawrence University men's novice eight demonstrated to the rest of New York State what they can expect from the Saints in years to come Sunday morning as the crew took home the gold medal in the Men's Novice Eight event at the New York State Championships in Whitney Point, NY.

In an exciting and tight race, St. Lawrence held off Marist in the Grand Final and clocked in with a time of 6:26.60, while Marist finished in a close second with a time of 6:26.93. Rochester Institute of Technology rounded out the top three with a time of 6:30.18, while Ithaca (6:31.25), Army (6:34.16) and Hobart (6:35.88) also competed. The Statesmen were the only other Liberty League entry in the event.

In the Men's Varsity 8 Petite Final, St. Lawrence's entry placed fourth behind Rochester (6:14.90), Union (6:24.26) and Vassar (6:28.80), with a time of 6:30.48. The Saints edged Hamilton (6:31.33) while RPI rounded out the event, finishing at 6:55.53.
