Men's Novice Eight Takes Fourth at Head of the Fish

Oct. 31:  The St. Lawrence University men's novice 8+ posted a fourth-place finish at the Head of the Fish Regatta on Saturday. 

Saints Compete at Head of the Charles

Oct. 25:  The St. Lawrence University men's crew team competed at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday. 

Saints Race at Head of the Genesee

Oct. 17:  The St. Lawrence University Crew teams competed at the Head of the Genesee, held on Saturday on the Genesee River in Rochester, NY.

Men's Crew Compete in the Bridge to Bridge Head Race

Oct. 10: The St. Lawrence University men's crew team opened it 2010-11 season, traveling to Rome, NY to take part in the Bridge to Bridge Head Race hosted by Hamilton College.  

Michael Brewer '14

2011-12:   Brewer was a member of the Saints varsity 8 in his second year at St. Lawrence.  A biology major, he earned Liberty League All-Academic honors and was named to the Dean's List in the spring of 2012. 

2010-11: Brewer rowed in the Saints Novice 8+ which earned a second place finish at the Liberty League Championships hosted by St. Lawrence University.   

At Saranac Lake:  Brewer was a three-sport athlete, participating in soccer, basketball and track.  He captained all three sports and was a two-time CVAC All-Star and MVP of the soccer team.  The Saranac Lake, NY native was also a two-time red letter winner in basketball.  An Augsbury/North Country Scholar, he served as the Vice president of the National Honor Society.  

Andy Caswell '14

Bolton, MA

2011-12:  Caswell rowed in the Saints varsity 8 in his second year at St. Lawrence.  The Bolton, MA native majors in music and is a member of the Singing Saints.

2010-11: Caswell rowed in the Saints Novice 8+, which earned a second place finish at the Liberty League Championships hosted by St. Lawrence University. 

At Brooks: Caswell participated in football, hockey, and crew in high school. 

Phil Hodosy '14

Watertown, NY
Watertown

2011-12:  Hodosy rowed in the Saints varsity 8+ in his second season with the Saints.  The Watertown, NY native is a major in global studies.  

2010-11: Hodosy was a member of the Saints Novice 8+, which earned a second place finish at the Liberty League Championships hosted by St. Lawrence University.

At Watertown
:  Hodosy was a three-sport athlete, participating in soccer, swimming, and tennis.  He captained the swimming and tennis teams, and earned MVP honors of the tennis team.  The Watertown, NY native was a scholar athlete.    

Amanda Dudley

Returning to her alma mater, Amanda Dudley '08 joined the St. Lawrence Crew staff in the fall of 2010 as an assistant coach.

Dudley, a Henderson Harbor, NY native, rowed all four of her collegiate years for the Saints and stroked the Varsity 8+ boat that was named 2008 Liberty League Crew of the Year and placed 5th at the NCAA Division III Rowing Championships. 

After graduating from St. Lawrence, Dudley worked as an assistant rowing coach at Lake Braddock Secondary School and then William & Mary Rowing Club, both in Virginia.  While assistant coaching, she also completed her student-teaching at Toano Middle School in Toano, VA and received her Master's in Education at The College of William & Mary in 2010. 

Blum and Halton Named to 2010 ECAC Stewards’ All-Academic Team

May 10:  Juniors Nicholas Blum and Alyssa Halton of the St. Lawrence University men's crew team were named to the 2010 ECAC Stewards' All-Academic Team Monday.  To be honored, student-athletes must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35.  A transfer student must have completed a year of study at the particular institution.

Novice Men Finish Second in Petite Final at ECAC Championships To End Regular Season

May 9:  The St. Lawrence University men's novice eight finished second in the petite finals Sunday, at the ECAC Championships in Worchester, MA to end their regular season.  Unfortunately, the stroke of the Saints' varsity eight, sophomore Justin Painter, suffered a season ending injury, so the 1V was unable to compete at the Championships.
