Apr. 23: The St. Lawrence University men's crew team's varsity 8+ finished in third place overall at the 2011 Liberty League Rowing Championships on the St. Lawrence River in Waddington, NY on Saturday.

Varsity 8+ Sweeps Weekend, Retains Houlihan Cup

Apr. 17:  The St. Lawrence University men's varsity crew swept its competition on the weekend, avenging a spring training loss to Hamilton on Saturday and defeating Union on Sunday.  

Saints Compete Against Ithaca

April 11:  The St. Lawrence University men's crew team picked up two second place finishes against Ithaca on the Cayuga Inlet in Ithaca, NY on Saturday.     

Saints' Eight Defeats RIT for First Time in Program History

March 26:  The St. Lawrence University men's crew team kicked off its 2011 spring schedule against RIT in Rochester, NY on both Friday and Saturday.  The varsity 8+ earned its first victory over RIT in Saints' crew history on Friday evening.

Saints Compete in Mayor's Cup in Tampa, FL

March 21:  The St. Lawrence University men's crew team competed in the Mayor's Cup in Tampa, FL during its annual spring trip.  The Saints JV 8+ posted a first place finish over the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, while the varsity 8+ earned a third place finish.

2011-12:  Pierce rowed in the Saints varsity 8 in his second season at St. Lawrence.  The Newton, MA native is a math and environmental studies major.

2010-11: Pierce rowed in the Saints Novice 8+, that earned a second place finish at the Liberty League Championships hosted by St. Lawrence University.      

At Newton South: Pierce was a three-sport athlete, participating in soccer, alpine skiing and track and field.  He served as captain on the soccer and skiing teams, and was also an honor roll student.  

Dr. Alison F. Del Rossi

Alison Del Rossi will serve as the men's Crew Faculty/Staff Mentor for the 2011-12 season.  

Del Rossi graduated summa cum laude from the University of Delaware, with a double major in Economics and English, and she received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to SLU in Fall 1999, Alison served a year as a Junior Staff Economist at the President's Council of Economic Advisers, and she was an assistant professor at the University of Wyoming. Her teaching and research interests currently include law and economics, public finance and government behavior, risky choices, and the economics of higher education. Alison enjoys many North Country activities, including playing ice hockey and cross-country skiing in the winter and rowing with a women's eight, hiking, and biking in the summer.
