Saints Fall to Yellowjackets

Nov. 19:  The St. Lawrence University men's basketball team fell to the University of Rochester 81-52 on the first day of the Chuck Resler Tournament in Rochester, NY on Friday night. 

Saints Cruise Past Bobcats in Opener, 92-50

Nov. 16: The St. Lawrence University men's basketball team opened its 2010-11 season on Tuesday night at Paul Smith's College. The Saints, led by junior Ralph Temgoua and sophomore Nick Meunier, defeated the Bobcats 92-50.

Saints #2 in Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll

Nov. 12:  The St. Lawrence University men's basketball team, ranked second in the Liberty League preseason Coaches' poll, will look to continue its success as it seeks its twelfth postseason appearance under the direction of Coach Chris Downs (14th year).

2011-12: Jones was the fifth-leading scorer for the Saints in his sophomore season. Appearing in all 25 games, he had a career-high 14 points against Vassar College on Feb. 11, 2012, and finished the season with 133 points.  Al is a math and economics major at St. Lawrence. 

2010-11: Jones appeared in 24 games for the Saints in his rookie season, scoring 98 points and grabbing 29 rebounds.  The Newark, NJ native also dished out 30 assists and added eight steals and two blocks.   

At Morristown-Beard:  A captain of the basketball team, Jones earned All-Area, All-County and All-Conference Selection honors for his efforts on the court.  Off the court, he was a member of the honor roll every year in high school.

2011-12: Brase appeared in 24 games for the Saints in his sophomore season and started in seven. The Lake Wylie, SC native recorded a career-high 12 points against Brockport on Jan. 3, 2012, and finished the season shooting .535 percent from the field with 81 points, 39 rebounds and 12 blocks. 

2010-11: Brase appeared in 23 games in his rookie season with the Saints, scoring 44 points and grabbing 47 rebounds.  The Lake Wylie, SC native also added five assists, seven steals and four blocked shots.

At Gaston Day:  Brase was a four-sport athlete, participating in basketball, soccer, golf and swimming.  The Lake Wylie, SC native is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Beta Club, and earned AP Scholar with Distinction honors.

2011-12: Stahler appeared in 24 games for the Saints in his sophomore season, recording 56 points and 49 rebounds. The Canajoharie, NY native earned Academic All-Conference honors for his efforts in the classroom, and has been named to the Dean's List in every semester at St. Lawrence.  A math and economics double major, Stahler was inducted into the Pi Mu Episolon honorary math society and is a SAAC representative. 

2010-11: Stahler played in eight games in his rookie season with the Saints, scoring 16 points while adding three assists, 11 rebounds and six steals. 

At Canajoharie:  Stahler was a three-sport athlete, participating in baseball, basketball and football.  He earned sixth team all-state honors in 2008 and fifth team all-state honors in 2009.  The Canajoharie, NY native was the Western Athletic Conference MVP in 2008 and 2009 and his team's MVP in 2007-2009.  Stahler is a member of the National Honor Society and was the valedictorian of his class.

Former Standout Josh Sharlow Signs Professional Contract

Sept. 8: Former St. Lawrence University basketball standout Josh Sharlow has signed a contract to play professional basketball overseas with the London Leopards of the England Basketball League (EBL) - Division one.     

Sharlow Named 2010 Second Team National All-America

Mar. 24:  Senior captain and Liberty League Player of the Year Josh Sharlow was named to the 2010 State Farm Division III All-America Second Team Thursday, by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).  The Norwood, NY native is the first St. Lawrence National All-America in men's basketball, since Greg Acunto in 1997 and the sixth in program history.

Josh Sharlow Named to 2010 First Ever NABC Division III All-Star Game

Mar. 17:   After a phenomenal 2009-10 season and four year collegiate career, senior captain and Liberty League Player of the Year Josh Sharlow was named to the first ever 2010 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III All-Star Game, Tuesday afternoon.  The game will be played as part of the 2010 NCAA Division III men's basketball championships, Saturday, March 20th at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, VA at 10:30 am.  The Norwood, NY native was chosen to play for the East all-stars.
