Saints Split on Day 1 of Skidmore Classic

Oct 22:  The St. Lawrence University volleyball team split on the first day of the Skidmore Classic in Saratoga Springs, defeating Cazenovia College 3-0 but falling to St. Michael's College 3-0.

Pretty In Pink! Saints Defeat Golden Knights 3-2

Oct. 19:  The St. Lawrence University volleyball team defeated arch rival Clarkson University 3-2 in thrilling fashion on Tuesday evening at the Burkman Gymnasium.  The Saints claimed the win in front of a record-setting crowd of 842 fans, the majority of which were wearing pink in honor of the "Dig Pink" event.

Oct. 19:  Watch the St. Lawrence University Saints take on the Clarkson Golden Knights this Tuesday at 7:00 pm on America One!  Tonight's match also marks the first annual "Dig Pink" event hosted by St. Lawrence University.

Saints 2-1 at Steven's Institute Invitational

Oct. 16:  The St. Lawrence University volleyball team closed out the Steven's Institute of Technology Quad Saturday, finishing 2-1 on the weekend. 

Tigers Overcome Saints

Oct. 9:  The St. Lawrence University volleyball team fell 3-1 (25-21, 18-25, 22-25, 16-25) to Rochester Institute of Technology in the third and final game of the Clarkson Invitational in Potsdam, NY.

The Saints move to 13-6 on the season.

The Saints came out firing against the Tigers, taking the first set 25-21.  The Tigers then battled back to beat the Saints in the next three sets to take the win. 

Working to spark the Saints offense was senior Abby Rose with 35 assists.  Junior Liz Grogan led the St. Lawrence hitters with 12 kills (.579 hitting percentage).  Nyasha Miller contributed a double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs.  Marta Johann recorded six kills with errorless hitting for a .400 hitting percentage. 

The Saints will travel to Hoboken, NJ on Oct. 16 to take part in the Stevens Institute of Technology Quad.  They will battle the College of Mount St. Vincent at 10:00am. 

Saints Split on Day 1 of Clarkson Invitational

Oct. 8:  The St. Lawrence University Saints split on the first day of the Clarkson invitational, sweeping the Plattsburgh State Cardinals 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-15) before falling to Elizabethtown 3-2 (25-19, 17-25, 25-14, 15-25, 15-9) on the night cap.

The Saints move to 13-5 on season.   

Sparking the Saints offense against the Cardinals was junior Liz Grogan, accumulating 10 kills against just a single error in 23 swings.  Classmate Marta Johan followed with 8 kills, while junior co-captain Nyasha Miller accumulated 15 digs and 8 kills.  Senior co-captain Abby Rose assisted on 23 kills and recorded six digs, while Lauren Drozynski had three service aces.   

The Saints recorded a .365 hitting percentage for the match against Plattsburgh (37-6-85). 

With back and forth blowout sets in the match against Elizabethtown, neither team was able to take control of the match and establish a steady flow. In the final set of the match, Elizabethtown jumped out to a quick four-point advantage over the Saints and was able to maintain that edge for the rest of the match to take the victory. 

Leading the Saints in the night cap against Elizabethtown was Grogan, who recorded 15 more kills, followed by Miller and Drozynski with 13 and nine, respectively.  Rose accumulated 43 assists while junior defensive specialist Katherine Pierce had 16 digs.  First-year student Katie Prue recorded six service aces for the Saints. 

Help Saints Volleyball Dig Pink on Oct. 19th

Oct. 8: The St. Lawrence University volleyball program has taken on an incredible initiative. Teaming up with the Side-Out Foundation, the Saints will host the 1st Annual Dig Pink event on Tuesday, October 19th during the team's match against Clarkson University.

Saints Defeat Wildcats 3-1

Oct. 6:  The St. Lawrence University volleyball team ended its two-game skid with a 3-1 (25-11, 25-17, 25-27, 25-10) win over Cazenovia College (5-9) Wednesday in Cazenovia, NY.  The Saints improve to 12-4 on the season.

Errors Prove Costly as Saints Fall to Potsdam State

Oct. 1:  Errors proved costly for the St. Lawrence University volleyball team, as Potsdam State took advantage to win in five sets (25-20, 24-26, 25-23, 19-25, 10-15) in Burkman Gymnasium Friday night.
