Saints Top Oswego State in Five Games, 3-2

Sept. 8: The St. Lawrence University volleyball team earned a split on Saturday on day two of the 2012 Victory Promotions Invitational, as the Saints fell 3-0 to St. Michael's before downing Oswego State in five games, 3-2.

Saints Drop Two Close Matches in Victory Promotions Invitational

Sept. 7: The St. Lawrence University volleyball team lost a pair of close contests on Friday night in the Burkman Gymnasium, as the Saints hosted a court for the 2012 Victory Promotions Invitational with Potsdam State.  The Saints fell 3-1 to Plattsburgh State before falling in five sets to Southern Vermont, 3-2.

Saints Sweep SUNYIT, Hunter at Oneonta Invitational

Sept. 1: The St. Lawrence University volleyball team responded in style on Saturday, as the Saints rebounded from a pair of losses on Friday night with two 3-0 victories over SUNYIT and Hunter at the 2012 Oneonta Invitational.  Senior captain Anna Kassab had 30 assists in the win over SUNYIT, while first-year student Lexi Brown led the charge with 17 kills against Hunter.

Saints Fall in Opening Two Matches of 2012

Aug. 31: The St. Lawrence University volleyball team dropped its opening two matches of the 2012 season on Saturday at the 2012 Oneonta Invitational in Oneonta, NY.  The Saints fell to St. Scholastica, a perennial NCAA Tournament team, 3-0 before losing to Houghton College, 3-1.

Saints to Combine Youth and Experience in 2012

Aug. 30: The St. Lawrence University volleyball team will get its 2012 season underway this weekend when it participates in the Oneonta Invitational on Friday and Saturday.  The Saints have a very young squad this fall, including the arrival of six talented first-year students.

2012: Taylor appeared in 106 sets at middle hitter for the Saints in her rookie season where she led the team in blocks with 74 while adding 119 kills. She recorded a career-best nine blocks against Plattsburgh on Sep. 25 and a career-best eight kills against Ithaca on Oct. 12.

At Madison High School
Taylor was an excellent student-athlete, as she earned a spot on the Honor Roll as well as All-Conference accolades for volleyball.

 2012: Deschaine appeared in 127 sets at outside hitter in her first year with the Saints, recording 223 kills and 49 blocks. She posted a career-high 12 kills on three occasions during the season.

At Millbrook
Deschaine was a dual-sport athlete, competing in volleyball and basketball. A member of the National Honor Society and regular on the Honor Roll, she was the captain and MVP of the volleyball team while earning First Team All-State status.

Rebecca Doser '16

2012: Doser appeared in 127 sets at middle hitter/right side for the Saints in her rookie season where she was second on the team in kills with 270 and also added 25 service aces, 75 digs and 65 blocks. She recorded a career-high 14 kills against Potsdam on Oct. 2, and a career-high seven blocks against Southern Vermont on Sep. 7. Doser earned All-Tournament honors and Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors once during the season.

At Penfield
Doser was a member of the 2011 Class AA New York State champion volleyball team, and earned Second Team All-County for her play on the court. A member of the National Honor Society, she also served as editor of the school newspaper, president of the jazz choir and wind pipe ensemble principal chair. Rebecca was a recipient of the SLU Book Award.

At Connetquot
Dignan captained the volleyball team while earning various awards including the Coaches Award, All-League and All-County. A member of both the National and Foreign Language Honor Societies, she was on the Principal's Honor Roll and earned All-County Academic.

2012: Brown made an impressive debut at outside hitter in her first season with the Saints, earning Liberty League Second Team All-Conference honors. She appeared in 110 sets and led the team with 342 kills, good for ninth on the program's kills in a season list. She posted a career-high 22 kills on two occasions during the season, and landed fifth in the Saints' program record book with a .576 hitting percentage against Union in October. 

At Sayville
Brown was a varsity volleyball player for three years, captaining the squad and earning All-Conference accolades. The Sayville, NY native, who is a member of the National Honor Society, was an officer in the environmental club and earned various awards in local and regional science research competitions.
