Saints Win Five of Six Matches in Day One of NYS Championships

Oct. 12: The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team had a stellar opening day of the New York State Championships on Friday in Ithaca, NY. The Saints, who enter their final weekend of non-traditional play this fall, posted three doubles wins and two singles wins to go a combined 5-1 on the day.

Oct. 8: As junior tennis players begin looking towards a collegiate career, many in the south tend to think that heading north may be a mistake. However, as the South Carolina duo of Elkie Vandenbeemt and Morgan McNeal are finding, coming north to play for the women's tennis team at St. Lawrence University turned out to be a perfect fit.

Tennis Match at Plattsburgh Postponed

Sep. 30:  Today's women's tennis match at Plattsburgh State has been postponed for a date yet to be determined. 

Saints Compete at ITA Championships


Sep. 22-23: The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team competed in the first day of the ITA Championships on Saturday in Geneva, NY.  Sophomores Elkie Vandenbeemt and Olivia Arroyo posted first round wins for the Saints in singles play.

Saints Defeat Continentals, 6-3

Sept. 18:  Four Saints were double-winners as the St. Lawrence University women's tennis team topped Hamilton, 6-3, in a dual match on Tuesday evening in the Newell Field House.    

Miller, Weinstein Win B Draw Doubles at Mary Kosking Invitational

Sep. 9:  The duo of sophomore Samantha Miller and first-year student Suzanne Weinstein captured the B draw doubles title at the Mary Hosking Invitational in Geneva, NY on Sunday. 

Doubles Shine in Opening Day of Mary Hosking Invitational

Sep. 8: The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team advances all of its doubles teams in the opening day of the Mary Hosking Invitational in Geneva, NY.  Leading the way were senior captain Shannon Murphy and sophomore Elkie Vandenbeemt who each went 3-0 on the day.

At Hilton Head Island:   McNeal was a two-sport athlete, participating in tennis and soccer.  A captain of the tennis team, she was also an honor roll student and is a member of the National and Spanish Honor Societies.

Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute

At Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute:  Goldhar was a four-sport athlete, participating in tennis, softball, cross country and track.  A captain of the tennis and the softball squads, the Toronto, Ontario native was a member of the honor roll.

 

Greg Kreitzer

Greg Kreitzer, a four-year member of the Hamilton tennis team, joined the Saints tennis staff in the fall of 2012 after serving as the men's and women's assistant coach at Allegheny College.

A two-time captain for the Continentals, Kreitzer compiled the fourth most wins for doubles in the school's history.  In his senior season, he was named to the NESCAC All-Academic and All-Sportsmanship teams, and was also an ITA Scholar Athlete. 

Kreitzer participated in several charity events as an underclassman, and also served as a summer Camp Counselor and Unit Head at Camp Seneca Lake in Penn Yan, NY.  He is also a Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) certified professional in Adult Development.  

A 2011 graduate from Hamilton, he earned his B.A. in economics and communications.
