Saints Edge Haverford 5-4 in Spring Break Finale

March 14: The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team came out on the winning side of a 5-4 decision on Thursday, defeating the Atlantic South Region's 18th ranked team Haverford College in Orlando, FL. The Saints, ranked 15th in the Northeast, improve to 3-3 on the season, while the Fords fall to 2-2.

Saints Lose Tight Match to Swarthmore

March 13:  The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team suffered a tight 5-4 loss to Swarthmore in Orlando, FL on Wednesday afternoon. The Saints, ranked #15 in the Northeast, move to 2-3 on the season, while the regionally-ranked #8 Garnet improve to 2-1.

#26 Lions Edge Saints to Remain Undefeated

March 11: The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team, ranked #15 in the Northeast, suffered a 6-3 loss to nationally-ranked #26 The College of New Jersey in its opening match of Orlando competition. The Lions remain undefeated on the season with a 10-0 record. Meanwhile, the Saints battled hard with their nationally-ranked opponent, but couldn't pull of the upset and fall to 2-2 on the season.

Saints Down Hawks, 6-3

March 8:  The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team, ranked #15 in the Northeast, earned a 6-3 victory over regionally-ranked #18 New Paltz in the Newell Field House on Friday evening.  The Saints improve to 2-1 on the season and will head down to Orlando, FL on Saturday to play several matches during the University's spring break.  Meanwhile, the Hawks fall to 8-4.

Saints to Play Matches in Orlando Over Break

March 7:  The St. Lawrence University men's and women's tennis teams will head to Orlando, FL this weekend to play several matches over the University's spring break.  

Saints Edged by Bombers, 5-4

March 2:  The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team was edged by Ithaca College today in a dual match in Glazer Arena on Saturday.  The Bombers, who qualified for NCAAs with an Empire 8 Championship title in the fall, improved to 12-1.  Meanwhile, the Saints move to 1-1 on the season.

At St. Pius X:  Fleming was a two-sport athlete, participating in swimming and tennis.  A captain and district champion, she was a First Honors student all four years of high school, and is a member of the National Honor Society.  The Albuquerque, NM native is a transfer from the University of San Francisco.   

Saints Ranked No. 15 in Regional Poll after Fall Season

Nov. 6: The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team has earned the No. 15 ranking in the Division III Northeast Regional rankings, the highest in program history, after an impressive fall season.

Mark Oakes

Dr. Mark A. Oakes will serve as the Faculty Mentor for the men's and women's tennis teams in the 2012-13 season.

Dr. Oakes joined the St. Lawrence Psychology Department as an Assistant Professor in 2011. Prior to joining the St. Lawrence faculty, Oakes was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology at Hamilton College, where he helped coach both the men's and women's squash and tennis teams. He received his BA in Psychology and English from Western Washington University and his Ph.D. from the University of Washington.

Saints Complete Fall Season at NYS Championships

Oct. 13:  The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team concluded its non-traditional season at the NYS Championships on Saturday.  Both doubles teams, as well as two athletes in singles play, fell in the semifinal rounds.
