Allen's Walk Off Hit Lifts Saints to Split with Elmira

March 31:  The St. Lawrence University softball team earned a split against Elmira College (1-1) Thursday in Canton, NY.  The Saints (7-7) avenged a 6-5 loss in the first game with a walk-off 4-3 win in the second game.   

Softball Game vs. Elmira Postponed Until Thursday

March 29: The St. Lawrence University softball team's home opener against Elmira College, originally scheduled to be played on Wednesday, has been re-scheduled for Thursday, March 31st.

Three Saints Earn Weekly Honors

March 21:  Three St. Lawrence University softball players earned weekly honors for their efforts during the last week.  

Saints Split in Final Day in Florida

March 18:  After falling in two games on Thursday, the St. Lawrence University softball team split its last two games of the spring trip on Friday on its final day at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic.  The Saints defeated Hamilton College 1-0 before falling to Wisconsin-Oshkosh 4-2. 

Kieltyka, Saints Earn Split in Florida

March 16:  A two run, pinch-hit home run by first-year student Caroline Kieltyka in the bottom of the fifth inning gave the St. Lawrence University softball team a 9-1 victory in Ft. Myers, FL on Wednesday.  In the second game of the day, the Saints held a one run lead against Fredonia until the Blue Devils strung together four hits in the seventh inning to claim the 2-1 win.  The Saints move to 5-3 on the season. 

Seniors Propel Saints to Sweep

March 14:  The St. Lawrence University softball team had an impressive day in Ft. Myers, FL today, sweeping Smith College 8-0 and Salem State 9-2.  Senior Meg Goodemote pitched a complete game shutout against the Pioneers, while going 3-for-7 with a triple, two runs, and five RBIs on the day. 

Stratton Helps Saints Earn Split

March 13:  The St. Lawrence University softball team earned a split in the second day of its spring trip in Ft. Myers, Florida.  The Saints came up short in the early game, losing to Stevens Institute of Technology, 3-2.  However, clutch hitting helped the Scarlet and Brown capture a 9-6 victory over Albright College in the second game. 

Saints Split on Opening Day of 2011 Season

March 12:  The St. Lawrence University softball team split its opening games of the 2011 season on Saturday in Ft. Myers, FL.  The Saints fell to Ohio Wesleyan 9-0 in the early game, but rebounded to defeat MCLA 8-0 in the second game. 

Saints Prepared for 2011 Season

The St. Lawrence University softball team will kick off its 2011 campaign against Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday, March 12 in Ft. Myers, Florida for the team's annual spring trip.  The Saints elected seniors Rachel Duffany, Meg Goodemote and Melissa Rogers as captains for the upcoming season.

2012:  Welsh appeared in 23 games in her sophomore season, primarily as the designated player.  She concluded the season with a .242 batting average and recorded 15 hits.  A biochemistry major, the Simsbury, CT native earned Liberty League All-Academic honors.  On campus, she is a biology lab assistant and a member of the club ice hockey team, the pre-health club and campus kitchens.  She also participated in the Denmark study abroad program in the fall of 2012.    

2011:  Welsh served as a back-up outfielder in her rookie season with the Saints.  She appeared in 7 games, compiling a .200 batting average and scoring a run.  Welsh earned National All-Academic honors for her efforts in the classroom. 

At Simsbury:  Welsh was a four-sport athlete, participating in softball, ice hockey, field hockey and golf.   The Simsbury, CT native is also a member of the National Honor Society.
