Skidmore Sweeps Twinbill with Saints, 3-1 and 1-0

May 1: The St. Lawrence University softball team saw its current skid hit seven games on Saturday, as Skidmore College swept the Liberty League games by the scores of 3-1 and 1-0 (9) in Canton, NY.  Junior pitcher Rachel Duffany was outstanding on the mound for the Saints, allowing only one earned run in 16.0 innings pitched, while senior Amy Atkins hit her sixth home run of the year to tie the University single-season record.

Yellowjackets Take Two from Saints in Liberty League Action

Apr. 24: The St. Lawrence University softball team suffered two five-inning losses on Saturday to Liberty League opponent Rochester by the scores of 13-1 and 11-0.  Senior captain Molly Swan hit her sixth homerun of the season to drive in the Scarlet and Brown's lone run on the day, pulling to within one of the University record.

Saints' Rallies Fall Short, Cardinals Sweep Doubleheader

Apr. 23: The St. Lawrence University softball team rallied to force extra innings in game one and tried to again to come-from-behind in game two, but were swept in a non-conference doubleheader by St. John Fisher in Rochester, NY on Friday by the scores of 8-4 (9) and 3-1.

Saints Split Doubleheader with Potsdam State

Apr. 20: The St. Lawrence University softball team split a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon with Potsdam State in Potsdam, NY.  The Saints used 14 hits to rout the Bears 14-2 in the opening game, while Potsdam earned a split behind a 12-7 game-two win.

Saints Split with Engineers in Liberty League Openers

Apr. 18: The St. Lawrence University softball team squared off with Rensselaer on Sunday in the 2010 Liberty League opening doubleheader in Troy, NY.  The two conference foes combined for 47 runs and 60 hits in the games at Doris Robison Field, with the Engineers winning game one 10-9 and the Scarlet and Brown taking game two, 15-13.

Home Runs Fuel Saints’ Split with Plattsburgh State

Apr. 6: St. Lawrence University seniors Jessica Manderfield and Molly Swan each hit their first career home runs on Tuesday in the second game of a doubleheader against Plattsburgh State, helping the Saints rally past the Cardinals 6-3 and earn a split in the series.  Plattsburgh State was able to hold off a last-inning St. Lawrence charge in game one to win, 5-3.

Atkins Hits Walk-Off Home Run, Saints Sweep Bears

Apr. 3: St. Lawrence University senior Amy Atkins' fifth home run of the season was a walk-off shot in the bottom of the seventh inning in game two of a doubleheader that propelled the Saints' softball team to a 5-4 victory over Potsdam State on Saturday afternoon.  The walk-off home run, the first ever at Saints Softball Field, gave the Scarlet and Brown a sweep of the doubleheader following 6-0 win in game one.

Elmira Sweeps Saints in Pair of Close Games

Apr. 1: The St. Lawrence University softball team dropped both games of a non-conference doubleheader against Elmira College on Thursday afternoon in Elmira, NY, the first games for the Saints since March 13.  Elmira pitcher Stephany Fontinell gave up only two hits in a 2-0 game one victory, and Erin Pruess hit a two-out walk-off double in game two for a 4-3 win.

Saints Fall to Crusaders 9-1 in Final Florida Game

Mar. 13: The St. Lawrence University softball team completed its spring trip in Ft. Myers, FL on Saturday morning, falling to the University of Dallas 9-1.  Despite the loss, the Saints return to campus with an impressive 7-4 overall record.

Saints Score Early to Sweep, Friday's Games Rained Out

Mar. 11: The St. Lawrence University softball team continued its impressive play in Fort Myers, FL on Thursday, as the Saints' offense was clicking early in each game.  The team's bats led the squad to a 9-5 win over New Jersey City University and a 9-0 victory against Wheelock College.  Meanwhile, Friday's games against Carroll and Olivet have been canceled due to rain.  The Saints will play a make-up game on Saturday morning at 9:00am against the University of Dallas.
