Saints Set to Open 2012 Campaign

Aug. 30:  The St. Lawrence University women's soccer team is set to open its 2012 season on Saturday against John Jay College at Sandy MacAllaster Field.  Head Coach Franco Bari will turn to his 15 returners to set the tone for the season as his team looks to continue its success and challenge for a Liberty League title.

At The Albany Academies:   A captain of the soccer squad in her senior year, Lloyd earned Second Team Colonial Council All-Star honors and the Heart and Soul Award.  Academically, she was a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, the National Language Honor Society, was a high honor roll student and earned the Student Scholar Athlete Award.

2012:  Gadzuk-Shea played in six games in her first season with the Saints, recording an assist against SUNY Potsdam on Sep. 12.  The Plattsburgh, NY native earned Liberty League All-Academic honors for her efforts in the classroom.

At Plattsburgh:  Meagan participated in five sports in high school, including swimming, volleyball, track, soccer and tennis.  She earned CVAC First Team All-Star honors as a senior and Second Team as a junior.  A member of the National Honor Society, she earned highest honors all four years and was a scholar athlete.   

 

Samantha Rock '16

2012:  Rock played in 16 games off the bench in her rookie season, totaling seven points (2g, 3a) for the Saints.  Both of her goals were game-winners and all three assists came in the St. Lawrence's victory over John Jay on Sep. 1.  

At Milton:   Rock was a three-sport athlete, participating in soccer, basketball and track.  A captain of the soccer team, she was a three-time All-State and four-time All-League selection.  The Milton, VT native also captained the basketball and track teams, earning honors in each sport.  Academically, Rock is a member of the National Honor Society and maintained High-Highest Honors throughout high school.

2012:  Fleming appeared in three games for the Saints in her rookie season, recording her first collegiate point on an assist in St. Lawrence's 10-0 season-opening victory over John Jay. 

At Shattuck St. Mary's:   Fleming was a two-sport athlete, participating in soccer and basketball.  A defensive standout on the soccer team, she was in the Minnesota ODP from 2010-11.  The Grosse Ile, MI native graduated with high honor, completed the Senior Capstone Research Curriculum and is a member of the National Honor Society.  

 

Amanda Hamilton '16

2012:  Hamilton appeared in all 16 games in her rookie season with the Saints. 

At AuSable Valley:   Hamilton was a four-sport athlete, participating in soccer, volleyball, track and field, and softball.  A three-year captain, she earned CVAC All-Star honors four years in a row, and was also named the league MVP.  She was selected to the First and Third All-State Teams, and also earned the scholar-athlete award four times over her high school career.  The Keeseville, NY native was the president of the National Honor Society, a high honor roll student, and earned both the Presidential and Comptrollers Awards.

2012:  Coppinger appeared in 12 games off the bench for the Saints in her rookie season.  The North Hampton, NH native scored her first collegiate goal in the first game of the season against John Jay, then assisted on two goals against SUNY Potsdam on Sep. 12.

At New Hampton:  Coppinger was a three-sport athlete, participating in soccer, lacrosse and basketball.  The team MVP in 2011, she also earned First Team All-State and All-Conference honors.  The North Hampton, NH native was also named the Player of the Year in 2010.  

 

Caroline Crandall '16

2012:  Crandall appeared in six games for the Saints in her rookie season and posted assists against John Jay, Medaille and SUNY Potsdam. 

At Saratoga Springs:   Crandall was a two-sport athlete, participating in soccer and lacrosse.  A captain of the soccer squad in her senior year, she was a four-time NYPHSAA Scholar Athlete and also a US Lacrosse Academic All-American.  The Saratoga Springs, NY native is a member of the National Honor Society, and earned the Rotary Award and the RESPECT Award for outstanding academics, citizenship and leadership.  

 

Adriana Morra '16

2012:  Morra started in all 16 games in her rookie season, helping to anchor the Saints' defense that posted nine shutouts, including a program record five consecutively.  The Setauket, NY native's first collegiate point came on Sep. 16 when she recorded an assist in St. Lawrence's 3-2 victory over Elmira.

At Ward Melville:   Morra was a two-sport athlete, participating in soccer and golf.  A captain of the soccer squad, she was a member of the Suffolk County Championship Team in 2011, as well as the League Championship team in 2008 and 2009 and earned All-Conference honors.  The Setauket, NY native is a member of the National Honor Society.
