Utica Hands Saints 2nd Straight Loss, 1-0

Sophomore goaltender Brady Cooper made 16 saves, but St. Lawrence University's field hockey team managed only three shots on goal in a 1-0 loss at Utica College on Sunday afternoon.

Oneonta Scores 5 Straight for Season Opening Win over Saints

Sept. 1: Oneonta State scored three goals in just under 10 minutes early in the second half and rolled to a 5-1 win over St. Lawrence University in the field hockey opener for both teams at Utica College Saturday afternoon.

Blend of Experience and Youth for Saint Field Hockey Team

Aug. 29: St. Lawrence University's 2012 field hockey team will include a blend of experience and youth as it strives for a second straight Liberty League tournament appearance and its sixth post-season bid in the last seven years.

A three year player for the Saints, Haley Preston's playing career will be curtailed by a knee injury, but she will stay involved with the Saint program as a student assistant coach. Haley was a three time NFHCA National Academic squad member and a two-time Liberty League All Academic player. She played field hockey, ice hockey and softball at Hotchkiss.

2012:  Lizzy started all 16 games for the Saints in her rookie season and scored three goals and had an assist with all of her scoring coming in the win over Vassar. She scored the game winning goal in that game and earned Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors for her seven point game. 

Lizzy played field hockey, ice hockey and lacrosse at South Burlington High School. She captained the field hockey team and earned All-State honors as a junior and senior. She was named to the Twin State field hockey all star team and earned the lacrosse sportsmanship award. She was a high honors student and a member of the National Honor Society.

2012: Caroline played in eight games and started three for the Saints in her rookie season. She made her collegiate debut against Oneonta and started the last three games of the year at midfield.

Caroline was a three year player on the Duxbury High School field hockey team, helping the team to league titles in her sophomore and junior seasons. She was a three-year member of the USA Field Hockey Futures program and played in the Cape Cod Classic. She also played four years of tennis, earning Boston Globe Patriot League all star honors as a junior and ran indoor track as a sophomore. A honor roll student, she was also active in competitive dance and in theatrical productions.

2012: Brady Cooper joined the field hockey team and played goal for the first time as a sophomore. She played in14 games, started 11 and had a 2.24 goals against average with a .805 save percentage. She earned Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors Oct. 1 after a 17-save shutout of St. John Fisher. She was named to the Liberty League All Academic team.

At Hotchkiss: Cooper was a three-sport athlete, participating in soccer, basketball and softball. She earned the Coaches Award in her sophomore year for soccer, and went on to be named to the All-League team in her senior year. A captain of the basketball and softball teams as a senior, she was a frequent on the honor roll.

2012: Kim saw relief action in three games for the Saints as a rookie, allowing one goal and making seven saves. She made her collegiate debut against Oneonta.

Kim Habb was a standout in field hockey, ice hockey and softball at Stowe High School and earned first-team All State honors in field hockey. She was also Cape Cod Classic MVP and a member of the all tournament team and was team captain. A member of the National Honor Society, she received highest honors. Kim plans to play both field hockey and ice hockey at St. Lawrence.

She was captain of all three sports as a senior and was a National Honor Society member and a four-year honor roll student. She plans to play both field hockey and ice hockey at St. Lawrence.
