Kenyon, Bethel Edge Saints Early in Florida Trip

Kenyon College snapped a 2-2 tie with two runs in the top of the eighth to hand St. Lawrence University's baseball team its fourth straight loss to start its southern trip at Fort Myers, FL.

Westminster Tops Saints in Baseball Opener

 

Westminster College overcame an early 4-0 St. Lawrence lad with eight runs in the top of the fourth inning and went on to a 17-4 win in the Saints' season opener in Florida on Saturday evening.

Saint Baseball Heads into New Era

A new era for St. Lawrence University baseball will dawn on March 12 when the Saints play the first official game in the SLU coaching career of Pete Hoy.

2012: Chris played in five games for the Saints, scoring one run and earning his first collegiate rbi with a sacrifice fly against Theil.

At Weston High School: Chris played baseball and football and ran indoor track. He was a two-time Dual County League all star in baseball as a junior and senior and was captain as a senior. He was an honor roll student.

At North Quincy: John was captain of his team, a first team All League choice in the Patriot League, an All Scholastic selection and was named ESPN Rise Magazine Greater Boston All Area second baseman. He was a National Honor Society member, a member of the Foreign Language National Honor Society and an Honor Roll student.

2012: Andrew was 1-1 in 13 appearances, all in relief. He had a 3.92 ERA in 20.2 innings, walking eight and struiking out 10. Opponents only hit .237 against him.


2011:
Andrew went 2-1 in 14 appearances in his first season of intercollegiate baseball. He had a 6.10 ERA with 21 earned runs in 31 innings, walked 16 and struck out 17.


At Kimball Union
: A sophomore, Andrew played soccer and baseball in prep school and was captain of the baseball team and earned the Stephen Bishop Award for leadership and passion for the game. He was an honor roll student.

Mike appeared in five games as a pitcher for the Saints, all in relief in his rookie season. He had a .822 ERA with three walks and three strikeouts in 7.2 innings pitched.


At Wayne Central:
Mike was a two time Finger Lakes East Player of the Year, a two time team MVP and two-time captain of the baseball team. He was a member of the National Honor Society.

2012: Joe went 5-3 in 11 appearnces for the Saints and was one of the innings leaders with 62. He struck out a team-leading 45 and walked 33, compiling a 3.92 ERA.


2011:
Joe made two starts among seven appearances and was 0-1 with a 10.06 ERA in 17 innings. He walked eight and struck out 11.


At Liverpool:
Joe played baseball and golf and was captain of both the baseball and golf teams as a senior.

Zane Fish '14

Zane returns to action after taking last season off.

2011: Zane Fish played in 19 games, starting 14 for the Saints as a rookie and hit a solid .293 with 12 hits in 41 at bats, He scored six runs and drove in seven and had four doubles and a homer.


At Indian River
: Zane was a standout in football, basketball and baseball. A member of the Saint football team last fall, he earned All North and section all star honors in football and was a team captain. In baseball, he was a four-time league all star, a two-time All North selection and a two year captain. He was a four-year honor roll student.

Bryan Palermo '14

2012: Named 1st team All Liberty League at second base, Bryan hit .362 and started all 42 games for the Saints. He led the team in runs scored with 57, had seven doubles and two triples and drove in 20 runs. He was a team-leading 14 of 17 in steals and had a .964 fielding percentage with 32 double plays turned. 

2011: Bryan took over as the starting second baseman for the Saints and played in 35 of 39 games with a.328 batting average, 25 runds scored and 18 driven in. He struck out just six times in 119 at bats and was 16 for 21 in steals to lead the team. He had a .955 fielding percentage and was in on 12 double plays.He was a first team all Liberty League selection.

At Riverhead High School: Bryan was a wrestler in addition to playing on the baseball team. He was a three year varsity competitor in both sports and was all league in wrestling and a two-time all league selection in baseball. A 2010 Academic All County selection in baseball, he was the team  captain. He graduated in the top ten in his class and was a member of the National Honor Society, the National Foreign Language and Business Honor Societies and was a four-year High Honor Roll member.
