Trio of Upperclassmen to Captain Saints in 2010

June 17: St. Lawrence University women's cross country head coach Mike Howard has announced the captains for the upcoming 2010 season.  The Saints, coming off a runner-up finish at the NCAA Championships, will be captained by graduate student Alexis Nuffer and seniors Wendy Pavlus and Katie Loignon.

Pavlus Wins 2009 National Title, Saints Second Overall

St. Lawrence University junior Wendy Pavlus won the 2009 NCAA Division III individual national championship on Saturday at a soft and hilly Highland Park Golf Course in Cleveland, OH.  The Tupper Lake, NY native ran an incredible race, winning by nearly 30 meters ahead of Bethel's Marie Borner.  Senior co-captain Johannah Ludington and sophomore Jenna Hulton each earned their first collegiate All-America honors as well, helping the Saints to second place overall in the team rankings.

Accolades Continue for Saints as Trio Earn Liberty League Awards

Dec. 1: Fresh off a second place finish at the NCAA Division III Championship race and the program's first individual national champion, the post-season accolades continue to pile up for the St. Lawrence University women's cross country team.  The Liberty League announced on Tuesday that juniors Wendy Pavlus and Megan Derby and head coach Mike Howard had each earned the conference's yearly major awards.

Pavlus Nominated for Collegiate Women Sports “Athlete of the Year”

Nov. 24: The Board of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards announced on Monday that St. Lawrence University junior Wendy Pavlus, the 2009 NCAA Division III cross country champion, has been nominated as a candidate for the 2009-2010 Division III Athlete of the Year, presented by Honda.

No. 6 Saints Make Final Preparations for 2009 NCAA Championships

Nov. 19: The St. Lawrence University women's cross country team, the champions of the Atlantic Region, hit the road Thursday morning bound for Highland Park Golf Course in Cleveland, OH, the site of the 2009 NCAA Championship race.  Saturday's race, which begins at 11:00am, will be the fourth appearance by the women's team in the program's history.

Pavlus, Howard Repeat as Atlantic Region Award Winners

Nov. 18: For the second straight year, St. Lawrence University junior Wendy Pavlus and women's cross country head coach Mike Howard have won major awards from the NCAA's Atlantic Region.  Pavlus has been named the Women's Regional Athlete of the Year, while Howard is the Regional Coach of the Year.

Pavlus, Saints Win 2009 Atlantic Regional Title

Nov. 14: The No. 6 St. Lawrence University women's cross country team is headed back to the NCAA Championships, as the Saints captured the program's first Atlantic Regional title on Saturday to earn an automatic bid into the national title race.  Junior Wendy Pavlus led the charge, as she successfully defended her individual crown.

No. 6 Saints Looking to Claim Program’s First Regional Title on Saturday

Nov. 11: The St. Lawrence University women's cross country team enters Saturday's 2009 NCAA Atlantic Regional race ranked No. 6 in the nation and first in the region, hoping to lock down a spot in this year's NCAA Championship.  The Saints are No. 1 in the region entering the race for the first time in the program's history, followed by four-time defending champions and host Geneseo State.

Five Top-10 Finishes Give No. 6 Saints 2009 Saratoga Invite Title

Oct. 31: The No. 6 St. Lawrence University women's cross country team had five runners finish in the top-10 at the 2009 Saratoga Invitational on Saturday afternoon, giving the Saints the team title with an impressive 21 points.  Junior Wendy Pavlus won the event by .5 seconds over sophomore teammate Jenna Hulton.

Hulton and Howard Win NYSCTC Awards

Oct. 28: St. Lawrence University sophomore stand-out Jenna Hulton and head coach Mike Howard were each honored by the NYSCTC after Hulton and the Saints won the state championship last weekend in Rochester, NY.
