Saints With Another Impressive Showing at Head of the Genesee

Oct. 12:  The St. Lawrence University women's crew team put on an impressive performance Sunday at the Head of the Genesee in Rochester, NY with all three of the boats indicating promising expectations for the 2009-10 seasons.

Kelly Greenwood '13

2011-12:  Greenwood competed in the Saints varsity 8 in her junior season. 

2010-11: Greenwood coxed the Second Varsity 8+ that won the 2011 Liberty League Championship title.

2009-10: Greenwood coxed the Third Varsity 8+ that earned silver at the 2010 NYS Championships. She was also a member of the Third Varsity 8+ and the Novice Four that took gold at the Liberty League Championships.

At Choate:  Kelly was a two-sport athlete, participating in crew and field hockey. She won the Coach's Award for field hockey during her sophomore and junior years. 

Britton Weber '13

2011-12:   Weber competed on the varsity 8 squad as a junior with the Saints.  A biology major, she earned Liberty League All-Academic honors. The Skaneateles, NY native is involved in Campus Kitchens, Funk Band, University Chorus and the Environmental Action Organization.

2010-11:  Weber was a member of the Varsity 8+ that earned silver at the 2011 Liberty League Championships.  She earned Liberty League and ECAC All-Academic honors for her efforts in the classroom.

2009-10:
Weber was a member of the Second Varsity 8+ that earned silver at the 2010 NYS Championships and participated in the NCAA Championship.

At Skaneateles:  Britton was a tri-sport athlete, competing in volleyball, swimming, and softball.  She captained her varsity swimming and diving team for two years, and also captained her JV softball team.  Britton was named an Academic All-American for swimming, as well as a scholar athlete.  She won the Section III Class C IM event four years in a row. Along with her athletic achievement, Britton was a member of the National Honor Society, and was a Scholar Math and English student. 

Alissa McCaffrey '13

2011-12:  McCaffrey competed in the Saints varsity 8 in her junior season.  A biology and history double major, she earned Liberty League All-Academic honors and was named to the Dean's List in the spring of 2012.  

2010-11: McCaffrey helped power the Varsity 8+ that was the runner-up at the 2011 Liberty League Championships. A biology and history double major, she earned National Scholar-Athlete honors, as well as ECAC and Liberty League All-Academic honors.

2009-10: McCaffrey was a member of the Novice Four that earned gold at the 2010 Liberty League Championships.

At John C. Birdlebough:  Alissa was a tri-sport athlete, participating in soccer, basketball, and track and field.  She co-captained her track and field team, and was named a Section III Scholar Athlete.  Along with her athletic success, Alissa was the president of the National Honor Society, as well as Valedictorian of her class. 

Madeline Fones '13

2011-12:  Fones competed in the Saints varsity 8 in her junior season. 

2010-11: Fones was a member of the Varsity 8+ that was the runner-up at the Liberty League Championships. She majors in conservation biology at St. Lawrence.

2009-10: Fones was a member of the Second Varsity 8+ that earned silver at the 2010 NYS Championships and the Third Varsity 8+ that took gold at the Liberty League Championships. She also helped power the winning Novice Four at the Liberty Leagues.

At Joel Barlow:  Madeline was a tri-sport athlete, competing in cross country, ice hockey, and track and field.  She captained her cross country and ice hockey teams.  Madeline earned All-League honors in ice hockey, as well as in track and field for the 4 x 400 m. 

Margaret Fellows '13

2011-12:  Fellows competed in the varsity 8 in her junior season.  An environmental studies and multi-language double major, she earned Liberty League All-Academic honors and was named to the Dean's List in the spring of 2012.

2010-11: Fellows helped power the Varsity 8+ that was the runner-up at the Liberty League Championships. An environmental studies and multi-language double major, she earned 2011 National Scholar-Athlete honors from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association, as well as Academic All-Conference honors. She is active around campus, participating in Baila, the Environmental Action Organization, Campus Kitchens Project, Islamic Culture Club and the Nordic Ski Club.

2009-10: Fellows was a member of the Varsity 8+ that finished second in the Petite Final at the 2010 NCAA Championships. The 8+ also earned the Liberty League title and was the runner-up at the NYS Championships. The Warwick, MA native earned the Bradley R. Evers Outstanding First-Year Student Award, as well as the 2010 Hoffman First-Year Scholar-Athlete Award for her excellence on the crew team and in the classroom.

Sally Dankner '13

2011-12:  Dankner competed in the Saints varsity 8 in her junior season.  A fine arts major, she earned Liberty League All-Academic honors and was named to the Dean's List in the spring of 2012.  

2010-11: In her second season with the Saints, Dankner was a member of the Second Varsity Eight that earned gold at the Liberty League Championships. A fine arts major, she earned a spot on the Academic All-Conference team.

2009-10: Dankner was a member of the Third Varsity Eight that took gold at the Liberty League Championships before earning a runner-up finish at the NYS Championships.

At Hingham:  Sally captained her crew team. 

Jessica Burdett '13

2011-12:  Burdett competed in the Saints varsity 8 in her junior season.  The Burnt Hills Ballston Lake, NY native is a mathematics major.  

2010-11: As a sophomore, Burdett was a member of the Varsity 8+ that was the runner-up at the Liberty League Championships.

2009-10: Burdett was a member of the Varsity 8+ that finished second in the Petite Final at the 2010 NCAA Championships. The 8+ also earned the Liberty League title and was the runner-up at the NYS Championships.

At Burnt Hills Ballston Lake
Jessica was a dual sport athlete, participating in both crew and alpine skiing.  She captained her ski team, was named a member of the New York Times All-State Team, and also earned MVP.  Along with her athletic achievement, Jessica was a member of the National Honor Society, and was a high honor roll student.

Saints Sweep Hamitlon in All Events Sunday

Oct. 4:  The St. Lawrence University women's crew team finished with an impressive showing Sunday, kicking off the 2009-10 season by sweeping Hamilton College in all events.

Oct. 3:  The St. Lawrence University crew team kicked off their 2009-10 season Saturday with their annual parent's weekend inner squad race on the St. Lawrence River in Waddington, NY.
