Zachary Slouka

Zachary Slouka, a 2011 graduate of Trinity College, joined the St. Lawrence Crew staff in January of 2012. 

Slouka, a Brewster, NY native, was a four-year rower for the Banthams.  He helped the second Varsity 8+ win gold at the New England Rowing Championships in 2010, followed by silver in 2011.  He was voted Most Fit Rower in his senior year. 

After graduating from Trinity, Slouka relocated to Minot, North Dakota where he assisted in flood relief and natural gas work. 

Saints Claim Category in “Fall Team Challenge”

Jan. 26:  The St. Lawrence University women's crew team participated in Concept 2's "Fall Team Challenge" from September 15 through October 15, 2011 in preparation for the upcoming racing season.  The group's hard work paid off, as it was the top team in the "School Club" category, logging a total of 1,239,504 meters over the one-month span. 

Saints Conclude Fall Season at Head of the Fish

Oct. 30:  The St. Lawrence University women's crew team concluded its fall season at the Head of the Fish Regatta in Saratoga, NY on Saturday. 

Saints Compete at Head of the Charles

Oct. 24:  The St. Lawrence University women's crew team competed at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, MA on the weekend.  The Saints finished 14th out of 29 crews in the women's collegiate eight event.

Saints Compete at Bridge to Bridge Regatta

Oct. 10:  The St. Lawrence University women's crew team competed at the Bridge to Bridge Regatta in Rome, NY on Saturday. 

Clean Sweep For Saints At Head Of the Mohawk Regatta

Oct. 3:  The St. Lawrence University women's crew team opened its fall season with a great showing at the Head of the Mohawk Regatta in Niskayuna, NY on Saturday.  The Varsity 8+ came away with a victory over Vassar College, while the novice crew defeated Rensselaer.

Saints Open Season At Head of the Mohawk Regatta

Oct. 1:  The St. Lawrence University crew teams opened up their fall seasons with a great showing at the Head of the Mohawk Regatta in Niskayuna, NY on Saturday.  Both the men's and the women's varsity 8+ swept their competition, defeating Liberty League opponent Vassar.  Two novice crews competed for the men's team, earning a first and second place finish over RPI.  The women's novice 8 posted a first place finish over RPI, as well.

Three Saints Earn National All-Academic Status

May 26: Three members of the St. Lawrence University women's crew team, Maggie Fellows '13, Alissa McCaffrey '13 and Lauren Reed '11, have been named 2011 National Scholar-Athlete recipients from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).

Saints Race in 2011 ECAC Championships

May 9: The St. Lawrence University women's crew team competed in the ECAC National Invitational in Worcester, MA on Saturday.  Highlighting the weekend was a first place finish by the Saints' Four as they finished in 8:08.78, five seconds ahead of second place University of New Hampshire (8:13.32).

Saints Sweep Races at Hamilton

While the St. Lawrence University women's crew teams were flooded out of the New York State Intercollegiate Championships at Whitney Point on Saturday, the Saints swept a set of five races in competition at Rome on Saturday.
