No. 1 Amherst Downs Saints, 93-63, in Tip-Off Tournament Championship

Nov. 20:   The St. Lawrence University women's basketball team faced nationally-ranked No. 1 Amherst College Sunday evening in the Tip-Off Tournament Championship, falling by the score of 93-63.  Sophomore Kelly Legg and senior Iris Santoni were named to the All-Tournament team. 

Saints Defeat Mt. St. Mary’s College, 76-69, in Season-Opener

Nov. 19:  Despite a late rally by Mount St. Mary's in the second half, the St. Lawrence University women's basketball team hung on for a 76-69 season-opening victory in the first game of the Amherst Tip-Off Tournament in Amherst, MA.  The Saints, led by a balanced team scoring effort, improves to 1-0, while the Blue Knights fall to 1-1 on the young season. 

Veteran Squad Opens 2011-12 Season This Weekend at Amherst Tip-Off Tournament

Nov. 17:  The St. Lawrence University women's basketball team is set to open its 2011-12 campaign this weekend at the Amherst Tip-Off Tournament in Amherst, MA.  Returning 10 of its top 11 scorers from last season, the squad will look to earn a Liberty League championship title and an NCAA Tournament berth. 

Saints Selected as Liberty League Preseason Favorite in Coaches’ Poll

Nov. 9:  The St. Lawrence University women's basketball team has been selected as the Liberty League preseason favorite in a vote of the league's nine women's basketball coaches.  The Saints, who return all five starters and the top five scorers from last season's 19-6 team, received 61 points and five first-place votes.  Defending tournament champion Vassar was picked as second with 55 points and two first-place votes.

2012-13:   Cady was the Saints third leading scorer in her sophomore year with the team. She finished with 220 points, including a career-high 16 points on two occasions during the season, 61 assists and 42 steals. Named to the Liberty League All-Tournament team, her 14 points against William Smith on Feb. 23, 2013 helped lead the Saints to the Liberty League Championship crown and an NCAA first round appearance.  Cady is a biology major at St. Lawrence. 

2011-12: In her first season with the Saints, Cady scored 83 points in 25 games, and added 24 steals and 42 rebounds. She recorded a season-best eight points in the Liberty League championship game against Vassar. 

At Whitesboro:  Cady was a three-sport athlete, participating in basketball, soccer and lacrosse.  A captain of the basketball squad, she was a two-time Tri-Valley honoree, including Player of the Year in 2011.  The Whitesboro, NY native was also two-time First Team All-Mohawk Valley, First Team All-CNY and eighth team All-State.  The Section III Class A Tournament MVP, she led her team to the first Sectional Championship in school history.  Academically, she is a member of the National Honor Society and was an honor roll student.

2011-12: Wetterhahn appeared in 24 games in her rookie season with the Saints, contributing 138 points, 84 rebounds and 19 assists. The Adams, NY native scored a career-high 13 points against Bard College on Feb. 10, 2012, and was named to the Dean's List in the fall of 2011.  

At South Jefferson:  Wetterhahn was a three-sport athlete, participating in tennis, track and basketball.  She was a Section III basketball All-Star, three-time All-North and two-time Frontier League MVP.  The Adams, NY native was also named to the All-Central NY second team as a senior, and was twice on the All-State team (second and fifth teams).  Academically, she is a "National Merit Commended Student", an AP Scholar and a St. Lawrence Trustee Scholar.

2012-13:  McDuffee emerged as the Saints' top-scorer in her sophomore season, earning Liberty League First Team honors for the first time in her career.  She led the Saints to the conference tournament title and an NCAA first round appearance in 2013, scoring 405 points (14.5 ppg) during the season and reaching double figures in 20-of-28 games. The Owego, NY native scored a career-high 24 points against St. John Fisher on Jan. 18, 2013.  McDuffee finished in the top-10 in every statistical category kept by the Liberty League, and was also ranked 3rd nationally in free throw percentage. She earned All-Academic honors and was on the Dean's List in the fall of 2012.

2011-12: In her first season with the Saints, McDuffee recorded points in 25 of 26 games, totaling 157 for the season with a .500 shooting percentage. She scored a career-high 18 points against William Smith on Jan. 14, 2012.  McDuffee, who earned a spot on the All-Tournament team for her efforts in the championship game, was also one of five selected to the conference's All-Rookie team. An English major, she was named to the Dean's List in both the fall and spring of the 2011-12 academic year.   

Bogdanich, Former Saint Standout, Joins Coaching Staff

Aliza Bogdanich, a former Saint captain, joined the St. Lawrence University athletic staff in the fall of 2011 as the assistant coach of the women's basketball program.

Aliza Bogdanich, a former Saints captain, joined the St. Lawrence University athletic staff in the fall of 2011 as the assistant coach of the women's basketball program. 

A 2004 graduate of St. Lawrence, Bogdanich earned a multitude of accolades over her four-year career with the Saints.  A 1,000 point scorer, the Lyme, NH native earned a spot on the D3Hoops.com All-East Region team and was also named the Liberty League Player of the Year in 2004.   In her first season, she was part of a Saints team that was the NCAA Division III runner-up.   

Bogdanich returned to her alma mater after serving as the assistant women's basketball coach at Morrisville State College.  Prior to her one-year stint with the Mustangs, she instructed math at The Foreman School in Litchfield, CT from 2005-2010, where was also the head women's varsity basketball and volleyball coach.       

Four Recruits Join Saints as Class of 2015

June 9: The St. Lawrence University women's basketball program has announced its 2015 recruiting class that is set to suit up for the Saints next season.  The class includes four excellent student-athletes, including Allie Cady, Kara McDuffee, Adriana Spicer, and Maddy Wetterhahn.
