Tennis Match at RPI moved to Friday

March 21: The St. Lawrence University tennis teams' matches at Rensselaer, originally scheduled for this Sunday, have been rescheduled for tomorrow March 22.   The matches will be played at the Tri-City Indoor Courts in Latham, NY, with the women playing first at 4pm and the men following at 6:00pm. Directions to the facility can be found on Tri-City's website.

Saints Conclude Spring Trip with 8-1 Win over Albion

March 15:  The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team earned an 8-1 victory over Albion on Friday to conclude its spring trip in Orlando, FL.  The Saints improve to 6-2 on the season, while the Britons fall to 2-4.

Saints Top Roger Williams, 7-2

March 12: The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team earned a 7-2 victory over Roger Williams on Tuesday night under the lights. The Saints improve to 5-2 on the season, while Hawks fall to 0-4.

Lions Top Saints, 8-1

March 11: The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team fell to The College of New Jersey on Monday by the score of 8-1 in its opening match of Orlando competition. The Lions improve to 5-0 on the season, winning all three of their matches over spring break. Meanwhile, the Saints' three-game win streak comes to an end as the team moves to 4-2 on the season.

Saints to Play Matches in Orlando Over Break

March 7:  The St. Lawrence University men's and women's tennis teams will head to Orlando, FL this weekend to play several matches over the University's spring break.  

Saints 4-1 After Sweep of Purple Knights

March 3:  The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team swept division II opponent St. Michael's College 9-0 Sunday in the Newell Field House.  The Saints improve to 4-1 on the season and will travel to Orlando, FL for three matches over the University's spring break next week. The Purple Knights fall to 1-3. 

Saints Top Bombers 6-3

March 2:  the St. Lawrence University men's tennis team improved to 3-1 on the season with a 6-3 victory over Ithaca on Saturday evening in Glazer Arena.  The Saints took a 2-1 lead after doubles and then used wins at the top three spots and the fifth spot to earn the victory. 

Mark Oakes

Dr. Mark A. Oakes will serve as the Faculty Mentor for the men's and women's tennis teams in the 2012-13 season.

Dr. Oakes joined the St. Lawrence Psychology Department as an Assistant Professor in 2011. Prior to joining the St. Lawrence faculty, Oakes was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology at Hamilton College, where he helped coach both the men's and women's squash and tennis teams. He received his BA in Psychology and English from Western Washington University and his Ph.D. from the University of Washington.

Saints Compete at ITA Northeast Regional

Sept. 28: The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team competed in the first day of the ITA Northeast Regional in Ithaca, NY. Both doubles teams earned victories on Friday but fell in the round of 16 on Saturday.  

Saints Compete in Final Day of SLU Fall Classic


Sept. 15-16:  The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team completed day two of the SLU Fall Classic on Sunday.  The Saints, who are 2-1 on the season, will be back in action on Sept. 28 and 29 when they compete at the ITA Championships in Ithaca, NY.
