Saints Go 3-1, Finish Second In Liberty League Championship

St. Lawrence University's men's squash team finished second to the University of Rochester for the fourth straight year in the Liberty League Squash Championships at the Robie Squash Center on Sunday.

Duncan Maxwell '15

2012: Duncan tied for the single season win percentage record with a 13-3 mark in his rookie season and was Liberty League Rookie of the week after team nationals, going 3-0 as the Saints finished 11th nationally. He was 4-2 at six, 3-0 at seven, 5-0 at eight and 1-1 at nine in his first year of intercollegiate squash.

At St. Andrew's:  A ranked junior squash player in British Columbia, Duncan also played soccer, badminton, volleyball, track and field and golf in high school. He was golf MVP in 2010 and was an honor roll student.

Kyle Ogilvy '15

2012: Kyle became the first Saint to advance to the quarterfinals in the Molloy Division of CSA Individual nationals at the end of his rookie season, going 3-1 in the tournament and earning Liberty League Player of the Week honors. He finished his season with a 10-11 record playing at one and two, and was named the conference Rookie of the Year.  Olgilvy is a psychology major at St. Lawrence.

At John McCrae:  Kyle played squash, tennis, badminton and soccer in high school and also ran track and cross country. He earned MVP honors and was an honor roll student.

Sebastian Riedelsheimer '15

2012: Sebastian went 9-7 in his first season of intercollegiate squash, playing in the four through seven slots. He was 4-3 at four, 0-2 at five, 2-0 at six and 3-2 at seven and won three of his last four matches.  The Caledon, Ontario native is an economics and mathematics double-major at St. Lawrence. 

At Robert F. Hall:  Sebastian played badminton, squash and tennis in high school and was a member of the Canadian Junior National Team in squash. He was an honor roll student.

Christopher Fernandez '15

2012: Chris Fernandez had a solid 11-7 season for the Saints in his rookie year, playing a variety of positions in the lineup. He played primarily at four and five, going 3-3 in each spot. He was 1-0 at one, 1-0 at three, 1-1 at seven and 2-0 at eight. 

At Canterbury
:  Christopher Fernandez played football, squash and baseball, compiling a 74-6 record in squash during his prep career. An honor roll student as a senior, he was also all conference in football and was a first-team All New England first baseman as a junior and senior.

Anderson Good '15

2012: Anderson went 5-3 in his rookie season, going 2-1 at forth, five, and six and 1-1 at nine. He made his debut with a 3-0 win against Hobart in the Liberty League championships.

At Chestnut Hill Academy:  Anderson played soccer, squash and baseball, captaining the squash and baseball teams as a senior. He was first team all league and helped his team to top five finishes nationally all four years. He won the Edward C. Rorer Trophy for improvement in his senior year.

Ibrahim Khan '15

2012: Ibriham went 10-6 in his first season of intercollegiate squash, playing primarily at three where he was 9-5. He split a pair of matches at two and went 2-1 in team nationals with wins against Penn and Williams to help the Saints secure 11th place. He was Liberty League Rookie of the Week three times, Feb. 13, Jan. 16 and Dec. 5.  He majors in economics at St. Lawrence.  

At Roots School System:  Ibriham played squash, tennis, cricket, table tennis, badminton and was a swimmer in high school. He was ranked number four in the under 13 and under 15 age categories in squash in Pakistan and ranked number one in the under 12 and under 14 rankings in tennis. He graduated in the top 15 percent of his high school class.

Seetreeon Torres '15

Career: 2-0

2012: Seetreeon won both of his matches in the Liberty League Championships, winning 3-0 against Bard at six and 3-0 against Vassar at eight.

At Trinity Pawling: 
Seetreeon ran cross country and track and field in addition to playing squash.  He was a two-year captain and his team won the New England Team Sportsmanship Award in 2011.

Seth, Abplanalp Earn Liberty League Awards

St. Lawrence freshman Vir Seth was named Liberty League Rookie of the Year and Saint coach Chris Abplanalp and assistant Chris Sachvie were selected as the Coaching Staff of the Year in voting by the Liberty League men's squash coaches.
