#9 Saints Down #15 Navy

Feb. 2:  The St. Lawrence University men's squash team, ranked #9 nationally, swept #15 Navy in the Robie Squash Courts on Saturday afternoon.  The Saints have won their sixth straight match and are 9-4 on the season.  Meanwhile, the Midshipmen fall to 24-6 with the loss. 

Pamela Larromana

Pamela Jimenez Larromana, a 2012 graduate of Trinity College, joined the St. Lawrence squash staff as an assistant coach in December of 2012.

Larromana was the number one junior national player in Mexico in all junior age rankings, GU-13 GU-15 GU-17 GU-19. The Puerto Vallarta, Mexico native also played in several international tournaments, making it to the semi-finals of the Canadian Junior Open GU-17. She was also a member of Mexico's National Junior team, winning gold and silver medals as a team in the Pan-American Junior Games in Guatemala and Ecuador. She also placed third at individuals.

At Trinity, she finished her four-year career with the Bantams with a 31-12 record and earned All-NESCAC recognition in 2009. She earned her degree in international studies.

 

#9 Saints Sweep Hamilton

Jan. 30:  The St. Lawrence University men's squash team, ranked No. 9 nationally, earned a 9-0 sweep of No. 25 Hamilton College on Wednesday night in Clinton, NY.  The Saints improved to 8-4 overall, while the Continentals fall to 6-8 on the season. 

Saints Complete Weekend Sweep

Jan. 20: The St. Lawrence University men's squash team, ranked #10 nationally, completed the weekend sweep of its competition as it defeated #19 Colby (9-0) and #26 Connecticut (8-1) at the neutral courts of Yale University. With the wins, the Saints move to 7-4 overall on the season.

Saints Beat #9 Columbia, #12 Williams

Jan. 19: The St. Lawrence University men's squash team, ranked #10, picked up two impressive wins at the neutral courts of Yale University. The Saints swept #12 Williams, 9-0, on Friday before making a big statement with an 8-1 victory over #9 Columbia on Saturday afternoon. Highlighting the match against the Lions was first-year student Amr Khalifa's 3-2 win over Ramit Tandon, the #2 ranked individual squash player in the country. St. Lawrence (5-4) will look for the weekend sweep as it battles Connecticut at 7:30 Saturday night.

#4 Big Red Tops Saints, 6-3

Jan. 13:  The fourth-ranked Cornell University men's squash team used wins at No. 2 through No. 7 to defeat St. Lawrence University on Sunday afternoon in Ithaca, NY.  The Big Red improved to 7-1 on the season, while the Saints lost their fourth straight to move to 3-4. 

Amr Khalifa '16

Asseddiq International School, Cairo

At Asseddiq:  Khalifa was a two-sport athlete in high school, participating in squash and swimming.  The Cairo, Egypt native comes to St. Lawrence with an impressive record, as he was crowned the World Junior Squash Individual Champion in 2010, along with helping Egypt win the team title in that year.  He also won the prestigious British Junior Open Under-15 category in 2007, and then the Under-17 category in 2009.  Academically, he was an honor roll student.   

Saints Drop Two Matches at Dartmouth Fall Classic

Dec. 2:  The No. 10 ranked St. Lawrence University men's squash team dropped two close matches at the Dartmouth Fall Classic, being edged by host #8 Dartmouth, 5-4, on Friday night before falling to #7 Franklin & Marshall by the score of 6-3 on Saturday. 

Rochester Edges St. Lawrence for Liberty League Title

Nov. 18:  The #5 University of Rochester edged the #11 St. Lawrence University men's squash team, 5-4, to earn the Liberty League title.  Both teams entered the last match of the day after sweeping Bard, Vassar and Hobart, but Rochester used wins at the top five spots to take its sixth straight conference championship. 

St. Lawrence Sweeps Bard, Hobart at Liberty League Championship

Nov. 17:  The St. Lawrence University men's squash team, ranked No.11 in the pre-season poll, opened the Liberty League Tournament with sweeps of Bard and Hobart on Saturday evening.  Both St. Lawrence and Rochester swept across the board in day one.
